Whi8lst I understand why a newspaper is shouting out about how Britain has stolen a contract to supply warships to Poland from the EU (Brexit and all that), I ask a few pertinent questions.

How long will it take to build these world class warships?

How long will it take for a nuke to leave Russia and destroy the shipyard?

PDI 12-26th Nov 24

It would probably take the missile up to 15 minutes depending in where it was launched from.

It probably wouldn't take much longer to reach any shipyard in the EU .... Why ?

Norfolk/Suffolk

How long? 18 months to two years at a wild guess. Could easily be longer

Grantham

The 3 shios are being built in Poland.

As they are based on an existing Babcock model, then construction should be fairly easy and to an agreed timescale.

Slightly odd question as it would not matter where in the world they are made regarding a Russian nuclear strike. Good news that they have chosen UK ships though - thanks, I had missed that story
