Maybe just a few but radio interception has heard Russian soldiers crying and actually deserting and not wanting to crush the Ukrainian people.

Maybe a small glimmer of hope….?

They are mostly conscripts who were just doing their compulsory service who were lied to and told they were on military exercises.

Until suddenly they have found themselves in Ukraine and a lot have family there.

Having some friends who have Russian wifes, who still have family members in Russia. Yes there is a lot of truth in young Russian Soldiers phoning home in tears. Most of the russian soldiers are conscripts serving their 2 years compulsory military service from aged 18. A friends wife has said she has been told by family in Russia that the soldiers were told they were taking part in Exercises in Western Russia!!.

Food shortages, logistic failures, stubborn defence. Not going well for Putin’s army.

There used to be a ruling within the Russian army, that conscripts could not be sent to active fighting zones.

That could only be done if they were "contracted soldiers"

The mainstream news is showing so little of what actually is happening there not that we can blame reporters as the front lines are fluid and dangerous. We have many friends in Ukraine and are seeing 1st hand what's happening. So far putin has supposedly had 5% of his invasion force killed taking into account deaths to wounded ratios he has approx 1 fifth of his force no longer available..and only managed to occupy a small city and a few towns.

They are shot on the spot by their officers. Any lucky enough to be captured by their enemy will have an interview with suitably trained handlers.

They are in a country where they could blend in and move freely if they desert alive, most would surrender at the border.
