"URGENT UPDATE FOR BRITISH RESIDENTS IN EU: Following a French Government decision, on 28/12/2021, unless they hold French residency, British citizens are now considered 3rd country citizens and can no longer transit France by road to reach their country of residence in the EU. I wonder how France, a member of the EU, can excercise it's own sovereignty? I think I remember the UK putting France on Amber list because of infection rate of Réunion (10,000km from Fr mainland) - that took weeks to sort out.. Fortunately, not many people on here will be affected and France did warn people well before Christmas to not travel as restrictions could be brought in. All makes sense really and anything to try and limit infections is surely a good thing. Again, fortunately the infection rate in the UK is decreasing whereas that in France and other European countries is doing the opposite. Of course, mainland Europe has not run out of testing kits ..." Well maybe Europe could be so kind as to donate some to a lowly 3rd country like the uk if they have excess testing kits available then everything will be fine, doubt it though lmfao.

The unfortunate thing is people's jobs in France are being lost due to this as their winter break places are like ghost towns

"The French government announced on Thursday that is has temporarily lifted its ban on UK nationals travelling through France to return to their homes in the EU, to avoid large numbers of Brits being stranded in the UK after the Christmas holidays." That has already been said above. As they have right of Residency it was fit and proper. Any other Brit or anyone else for that matter is restricted. You are now agreeing against your own post lol.
