"Well he has been calling for them to open the booster for more people. Which they did. He had kept saying they are not fit to lead with examples. He skewers Johnson at PMQs and points out their law breaking in TV interviews. What is it you specifically want him to do? " Well it seems rather disingenuous to say he's not fit to lead and then say we think he's making the right decisions so therefore will vote for them. I personally think he should trigger a vote of no confidence. Take the gloves off keir.

"SKS needn't do a thing, as it is more prudent for him not to interupt the tory party while they continue to make a long series of utterly fatal political errors." I tend to agree.. Hes playing the long game and effectively giving them enough rope. But we can't complain about our democratic process when her majesties opposition isn't opposing. And you can't credibly say on the one hand the govt are making a pigs ear of the pandemic and then in the same breath say.. But we wouldn't be doing anything different.

Well they have set out on multiple occasions what they would do differently. They have made a mess of the pandemic and killed thousands of people by dithering and delaying. To vote against these restrictions while saying they should have brought in restrictions would be non sensical.

"Ok, and when Boris Johnson wins that as he a majority of 80 then what? Starmer has busted his flush and Johnson is backed. If he loses it then the conservatives vote in someone new who is a new broom and untainted and can blame everything on the previous administration and there is nothing to see here. It's lose /lose. At the moment, the longer they leave Johnson there the more people have to back him and are complicit in telling lies to the country. Starmer is just widening the conspiracy. When the Tories eventually knife him in the back Labour have a set of video clips of the new leader backing the old one. Labour are 9 points clear in the polls. They are backing the virus stuff cos the science backs it up and people don't want Labour being party political with virus restrictions and Starmer has said he trusts the scientists on it so is backing it on that front. The only way to bring these restrictions in is through parliament. If Chris Whitty could do a poll on zoom I'm sure Starmer would prefer that but that's not how our government work. If he wants restrictions he has to vote, on this, with the government" I think your right that ideally for SKS is to leave Boris to continue as he is until the next GE and then nail it. He may not get his ideal scenario though as the Tory party may act before that and remove Boris. A headline in the independent says If he looses the next bi election, and that's quite likely then he could face a leadership challenge

"it's a shame tory voters are so very weak and fail to stand up to poor governance. they have the corrupt criminal and wildly economically incompetent government which they deserve. " Yes I suppose it is only the tory voters who are so weak and being governed by the countries government. Bless the irony of that comment.

" Hand leadership over to Angela Raynor.. wasn't keen on her at first, but in times we need straight talking honesty, she sure as hell calls a spade, a spade.. And, just like me, she is a Stockfordian.
