"This is concerning as British manufacturing faces problems from various fronts. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/nov/29/perfect-storm-for-uk-manufacturers-as-costs-credit-and-cash-crunch-looms?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other The last thing that Britain needs at this (or any) point in time." British manufacturer here and we are doing just fine mate, our figures are up all across the board for both in the UK and around the world. Not every manufacturer is having issues as the article insinuates.

From my own personal point of view, if manufacturing struggles then it affects pensions which affect me so I am 100% behind British industry performing well. I hope that the Guardian has got this wrong but there is normally no smoke without fire..

I hope that the Guardian has got this wrong but there is normally no smoke without fire.. " Sorry if I offended you by calling you "mate", I just use that word when I talk to most people. We are on target for our best year since 2014, the UK market for us is way up on normal and with good growth in the US and Asia we have a very good order book, so we are very positive about the future. The guardian is definitely wrong in regards to my business but I do accept there are many different types of manufacturer in the UK and I am sure some are struggling more than others. Although in fairness this has always been the case and is the same everywhere else too not just here.

"The Guardian doesn't know anything about the manufacturing industry. The way they speak you would think the manufacturing industry has never seen adversity in the past and this is the first time." You don’t need to be a genius or a Telegraph journalist to spot that any Uk business is going to face a lot of inflationary pressure both for lanour and import of raw materials or parts. That can’t be good for manufacturers as it creats instability. The other financial concerns mentioned will vary in impact it any depending on the financial health of any given concern. And whilst it is fantastic to read that one commentator is doing well and sales are booming, a sample of one does not an economy make. Of course many western countries are going to face similar issues - but UK has the double Impact of post Brexit labour shortages and the pandemic cash debt challenges. But that’s the beauty of free market capitalism. Out of the destruction comes opportunity and fortunes can be made. That’s why we left the EU, so we can let rip and make a bundle! Hoorah!
