I'm not a labour supporter as a rule but this this a good man, a loyal man and someone who deserves respect. If all MPs behaved as this man does, we would have a far better Parliament, without the bile, shite and filth that is spoken these days and caused him to leave his party.

Yes, and a decent chap. You might not agree with all of his opinions but be is/was a damn good representative for 40years

A real backbencher MP. Wish him well in his last few weeks of his life.

So sad to hear this. Frank Field is a really nice, decent guy who earned my respect a long time ago and hasn't lost it over all the years since then. I may have disagreed with him in the past but he's never been anything other than a gentleman in the finest sense of the term. Our thoughts are with him and he'll be greatly missed. Parliament needs more people like him.

Had the pleasure of being in his company a few times.

Always had time to listen to opposing views.

Wonderful man and local MP, not like the majority.

Very sad news.

If only all MPs conducted themselves in the same manner

I agree.

As long as my husband never became an MP.

He would be a complete twat, treat people with total contempt and find the quickest and most profitable way to line his pocket during and after his stint in Westminster.

Just love him.
