Matt Hancock's new job

Apparently, Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has been given a role with the United Nations as a special representative.

Holy Forking Shirt!

He's doing it unpaid; so that's fair recompense for his abilities.

I'd imagine he'll have as much impact as that Middle East Peace Envoy, Tony Blair.

Goes to show, it isn’t what you know, it’s who you know, and by christmas someone is looking out for him.

To be fair, it's hard to beat Blair as Middle East Peace Envoy when it comes to ridiculousness.

He screwed up here, now off to screw Africa over and line more of his cronie friends pockets..

I'd happily sponsor him to be lifetime ambassador to the Antarctic.

The UN have essentially turned him down because of the UKs Government role in blocking the manufacture of covid vaccines in poorer countires.

The withdrawal of the offer was welcomed by campaign group Global Justice Now.

The group's director Nick Dearden said: "If Matt Hancock wants to help African countries recover from the pandemic, he should lobby the prime minister to back a patent waiver on Covid-19 vaccines.

"If he'd done that when he was in government, tens of millions more people could already have been vaccinated.

"The last thing the African continent needs is a failed British politician. This isn't the 19th Century."

Hancock is a joke!

An outbreak of common sense, then. Good.

It's the last thing the UK needs, too - but we've got a Government full of them; despite his absence from the Cabinet.

"The job offer has been withdrawn "

I saw hahahaha

Even better, Hancock stated the UN told him they'd spotted a technical rule that meant sitting MP's can't be UN special representatives.

And yet... Gordon Brown was a UN special envoy in 2012, while he was an MP.

Option 1: Hancock is red-faced about getting dumped and lying through his teeth about what happened.

Option 2: The UN desperately dug up any excuse to dump Hancock

Option 3: the UN somehow didn't spot the rule when working with Brown. But when they were about to have Hancock foisted on them, they suddenly remembered it.

When even Boris Johnson says you are fucking useless/hopeless (can’t remember exact quote) then you know you got trouble!

Hancock is less use than a chocolate teapot.

It was not an official offer by the UN and has since been withdrawn
