I'm on UC - both the JSA and Housing Benefit elements. I have two jobs and I got the uplift.
I'll miss it and I'll have to cope - but I'm not vulnerable, or disabled and I don't have any dependent children.

"Indeed. I thought the idea was that we wouldn't need to import workers. Certainly, we're being told there's more vacancies than workers and that's why wages are rising. Not much evidence of it at the bottom end of the job market yet; I guess we'll have to wait and see. Have to say though, a low paid job IS better than no job at all - as long as you're not actually being exploited. Work's work, after all. | |||
