I will not post the link because im not sure if im allowed to or not. But you can google "oryx afghanistan"

Oryx is a group that archive weaponry and vehicles ect that are owned and or in use with forces in active warzones. They have obviously an interest in what arms have been procured by the Taliban. The list is most likely on the conservative side also.

The list is quite interesting including a Super Tucano attack plane (The ANAF had 29 so fuck knows where the rest are atm) 700+ Humvees. Other stuff including Helicopters, AA gunns, UAV's ect

Just about the only weaponry the Taliban will be able to use are the Humvees and and AA guns plus all small arms and ammo.

Planes, helicopters and UAV's need very specialist pilots, they also need to be maintained by an even larger and more specialist ground crew. As most of the Afghan army and air force have gone AWOL, i'd be amazed if any planes, drones or helicopters even manage to get off the ground. If they did i think they wouldn't be airborne for very long.

Falkirk

All this equipment will need maintenance and parts to keep them operationaly ready.

The fleet maintenance requirements are astronomical, hence why defence budgets are huge.

Most of the equipment is obsolete, so "IF" a re-occupation is required, there will be no problems with neutralisation.

Would like to see the average Taliban not murder people under the guise of religion.

It's absolutely piss poor that the Afghanistan army who far outnumber the Taliban have surrendered all the equipment they had in a useful condition.

Common sense would have been to destroy everything.

It turns out you can give an ANA soldier a gun and a helmet but you can’t give him a spine !

Could it be sold off to other countries interested in the technology?

I would think all the other countries know the technology the yanks would not give them up to date versions they get rid of their old stuff on other countries.

Agreed but also remember Afgan is not Britain.. there may be 50 Taliban or aligned living right under your nose in your own town, people who know you are ANA, who know where you and your family live, they know and you who know that they can and do simply walk into your home at night, murder everyone and they will get away with it... it’s hard to fight a war when the front line is your own doorstep and one side can operate without any rule of engagement constraints.

It's reported that in the region of 65-70 thousand died in the fight against the Taliban this past twenty years..

Which would make your comment a tad ignorant..

it's funny watching everyone underestimate the Taliban, you think the rulers off the new Islamic caliphate won't be able to pull in people that know how to use that equipment

We aren't talking about idiots here, this isn't Isis blowing themselves up with rpgs, this is the faction from a country that has embarrassed both the soviet Union and the United States (and Britain) in the last 30 years, who's history of war makes the US record look like a playground scrap.

I agree the Taliban are not stupid but unfortunately the majority of their fighters and believers are and have been brainwashed into believing that they will be going to a better life if they die fighting

All military personnel are brainwashed to a certain extent, killing another human being is not something that comes naturally, the enemy has to be dehumanised in order for people to be able to live with themselves after killing them.

Most of the hardware was maintained by American contractors, and they've all ling gone.

Getting spares could be a tricky job.

Not as hard as you may think for some of the stuff. The Blackhawks for example. China have the Z-20 which is pretty much an exact copy of the Blackhawk. So parts and training would be possibly available through China.
