Only because the Taliban are allowing it to happen.

If they choose instead to create a bloodbath, they could and it would be all over the hands of Johnson, Trump and Biden.

They know the best policy is let them leave otherwise they'll draw fire back at them.

They have put so many lives at risk. UK only just started evacuating, US have completed. BORIS again, clueless, he just tells the Taliban "no more terrorist training". Could see this coming weeks ago, yet leave getting put to day before they arrive at the airport.

Any British that were still in Afghanistan should have had the common sense to have left already as it was obvious what was going to happen.

There was nothing stopping the progress of the Taliban as each of the governors of territories just rolled over to the other side as soon as they could.

I agree but many were told to get their own commercial flights and with no urgency.

Where was the Foreign Office, sat on its hands.

As someone just said, after 20yrs of being told the Taliban is 'finished', "it now has an Air Force and best equipment money can by".

The US aren't even close to getting all their citizens out. All they have completed, is the evacuation of their diplomatic staff from their embassy.

Kabul Airport is their new stonghold.

The uk expect to have everyone out by the 31st aug the USA 11th sept at least try to get your posts right.

If the Taliban start slaughtering people then their blood will be on the Talibans hands. Stop blaming politicians that have tried for the last 20 years to protect the people of Afghanistan

The Taliban want to turn back the clock to the dark ages

Will not be long before they start forcing the men to grow beards again and forcing woman to wear full burkas ect..

Very true. I saw the clip of Afghanis running alongside an American transport plane trying to jump on it. No mention that America has completed their withdrawal at all

In fact they are sending more troops to try and control the airport so no where near done pulling out like the other poster stated.

People should have seen this coming... this isn’t the first time this has occurred.

You think those Brits who settled in British Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), Pakistan, India and all those empires, stayed behind once they knew they had no place in these respective places?

The same goes for Italians, Dutch, Spanish and French who settled in their respective territories. They got out once they knew their newly found homes for a better life will come crashing...
