Maybe the union's will get involved to stop or water it down. If they asking for volunteers now it may lead to compulsory redundancies if they don't get enough volunteers. That would be a twist of fate

But the real truth from the Party Deputy Says:

"The Labour List website reported last week that party reserves are down to one month’s worth of payroll, and said general secretary David Evans had told the National Executive Committee: “We don’t have any money.”

Asked about the situation, Ms Rayner said: “We are in the devastating circumstances where we have lost general elections and we have lost resources as a result of that, and our organisation has to change."

And let's be clear sexual harassment happens on a day-by-day basis in every walk of life. It's not owned by a party over anther . . . it's a despicable behaviour that ought to be called out for what it is . . . not as a political bat just to score points.

So what’s happening here…

Labour make lots of employees redundant.

Labour rehire others with short term contracts, lower wages and lesser T&Cs.

Sounds like that very thing Labour were admonishing others for very recently - fire and rehire is the term???

Senior Labour MP is believed to have said “Sacking individuals and hiring others with worse wages, terms and conditions are the actions of the worst of the very worst employers.”

The support base from unite is causing the problem.

Your also judging them something they haven't done yet! They say fire & re-hire won't happen, let's just wait & see shall we?

"The quotes above are directly from Rayner's mouth . . .

Again . . . the Party Deputy (Angela Rayner Said:

Asked about the situation, Ms Rayner said: “We are in the devastating circumstances where we have lost general elections and we have lost resources as a result of that, and our organisation has to change."

She hasn't fired and rehired yet to my knowledge

Yea but, no but, yea but lol.

It does read in that vein.

No it doesn't. Let's see how it pans out.

Yes it does. If they make them redundant because they have no money because of their own inadequate handling of economics of their own party then at a later stage they rehire then that's the same behaviour as she was calling out.

The support base from unite is causing the problem.

The secretary said they have less than one month of payroll left.

I can't see them doing a fire and 're hire after ever thing they have said. It would loose them any credibility left. The big companies especially will watch closely taking notes for next time they need to scale back and get so called advice from Labour/ unions

The problem with that approach is that if they have no money, 'literally' and they have to fire and when they get money again they will need to 'hire' - If they don't 'rehire' those they let go to redundancy, that's almost the same sticky situation. Not a very good position to be in from either direction.

That's true enough. I think when they do eventually 're hire it will have to be on at least the same pay and conditions (allowing for inflation of course) as the redundant jobs. If not it will look like they are doing what they accuse struggling businesses of doing
