The incompetence and headless chicken approach to PPE starts to become public.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/07/25/government-wasted-21bn-ppe-useless-says-new-report/amp/

1644 is the number of contracts issued. FFS a bunch of kindergarten kids could have done better than this lot. I

Still three quarters of the details on who was paid what is being kept secret!

According to the FT we spent 30% more than Germany who have a 35% bigger population

We have spent 30% of the total spend of U.K. and EU put together which shows dramatically how much we’ve over paid!

It’s almost as if the government has used this pandemic to enrich their friends at the expense of the taxpayer.

They will just brazen it out and try to fob off any legal questions in relation to corruption or mates rates.

Turns out 8 billion items are useless. Will we be getting out money back?

One company contracted to run “some” of the logistics was paid £572million to,,, well manage the freight.

Not sure if this included the cost of the actual freight they booked but with rates at around $2000 dollars at the time that’s four hundred thousand boxes. Hmmmmm I think the government is either run by morons or there’s some tasty board memberships coming their way soon.

Air freight rates offered were waived through unchecked….

When needs must it’s often the first thing that isn’t quibbled

Storage costs at the moment are huge….

On the upside, we do have plenty of stock to call on for the next 20 years

Yes I’m sure our children will be happy to keep paying the debt while those who profited sit on their yachts in the south of France.

I disagree about the government being incompetent in this area. They're actually highly competent at giving piles of cash to their mates.

I don't need to look at it to know there's incompetence going on. That's applicable across the political spectrum.

Maybe if Labour appoint Andy Burnham as their leader we will see the Tories held to account more effectively and secondly out of office at the next election. Brexit & Covid have focused the spotlight on their daily performance/ineptitude and to say its shown lies, bigger lies then statistics I'm afraid, is what this present Government are all about, that and as been pointed out, looking out for their mates/partners in crime.

You need the press on board too.

What's the point in pointing out that we have a man running the country who literally lies on a daily basis, when it's not even reported?

No.

Not every single mp is a liar

And no one lies as frequently or as Brazenley as the one currently running the country.

The old "they're all liars" argument keeps popping up to try and excuse Johnson and his lot.

Yes, they are all liars. Just as all human beings lie.

But there is a matter of degree. Johnson lies routinely, all the damn time. He was sacked twice for lying. Frankly, he should be sacked from his current job for lying, to complete the hatick. (Lying in the Commons is supposed to be a resigning offence. You wouldn't know it from the fact he lies every damn time he stands up there.)

During a pandemic, when clarity and facts are so important, his lies are even more damaging. His lying ultimately costs lives.

Johnson's lying is also trashing our international reputation. Nobody trusts us anymore. And who can blame them after Johnson lied so repeatedly? Especially when he then decided to just break international law, with an agreement he'd so recently signed.

And, yes, fuck Blair too. Because of the way he lied and dragged us into Iraq. But even he came nowhere close to Johnson's ever-growing mountain of lies.

The fact that he is consistently fact checked?

The fact that there is a website specifically set up to keep track of his lies?

The fact that he has been called a liar in parliament?

The fact that he has been sacked twice for lying?

The media are incredibly quiet of the constant lies!! It’s just obscene how much control of the narrative the Tory party has.

A coalition of opposition party's? Not going to be easy as they do not all sing from the same sheet. Although they may all agree to replace the current government, once in power things could be even worse amazingly

Some of those "other parties " can't resolve differences within their own party much less unite with others.
