BECKENHAM

One has to question Boris Johnson's intelligence surely ? He has proven time and time again he is a liar but, come on this last statement shows he is incapable of knowing truth from lie! It is nothing short of criminal that this man is being left to decide this countries fate.

Sitting on one's hands might be seen as quite decisive..

Ironic for a guy who has used them lots of times to lose his balls when it comes to some decisions..

I have no idea what has been said or by whom. But it is possible that action was taken in private to force Hancock to resign.

We will never know the truth though.

It was pressure from Tory backbenchers I would wager

Shouldn't have come to that, Boris should have said on Friday 'times up, son' then let him resign or sack him..

Yet he failed in one of his duties which is to lead..

Shouldn't have come to what?

Private talks to make a decision and then tell him he has to resign or he'll be sacked?

That is what I said

It is possible that the PM did that. It is equally possible that he bottled it. As he likes to hide in fridges when the going gets tough, I'm going for the second possibility.

Apologies, misread what you wrote..

It should have told him to resign on the Friday etc..

Maybe the action should have been taken quicker but we don't and won't know what happened in those talks. If they happened at all of course.

We know Boris was quoted on Friday as saying the matter is closed, then there's a resignation on the Saturday..

Pretty much confirms a u turn following a poor decision on the Friday..

How many times have you heard someone say (anyone) that 'the matter is closed' 'we are behind him' 'we have confidence in him' only for it to lead to a sacking within days?

Tbh it's not uncommon yes but it only serves to make whomever look like they're dithering or trying to brazen it out..

Under the circumstances this was as clear cut a case of gross negligence as there could be, should have gone Friday..

Especially as Boris was on the record as saying he was hopeless, then with the briefing in the telegraph? Prior to the picture in that rag it all looked orchestrated..

To be fair maybe that's why Hancock didn't go straight to away..

Youre right that it appears like a clear cut case. Gross misconduct I'm not sure. You can't just sack someone on the spot. There are laws to stop it. And let's face it, Hancock will know an awful lot about that Cabinet so just maybe they had a bit of a stand off for a short period.

Anyway, he's gone now. That's really all that matters

But then you can’t say on Friday that you accept his apology and the matter is closed…. Only for his to fall on his sword on the Saturday!!!

He is trying to play the role of captain hindsight…. But they are trying to claim we have amnesia

Its pointed out youth services have been cut in the last 10 years by 70%

Alex says they will "continue'to invest in youth services.

It actually is a total farce.

Well, quite. However, if anyone hasn't been questioning his intelligence since long before his lack of it led to the deaths of over 100,000 UK citizens, they really ought to have been.

Sutely a sizeable majority are still not questioning his intelligence?

Do the speaker actually have the power to instruct the PM to actually answer the question?

I’ve not heard him answer any direct questions. So exactly what is the point apart from raising a public profile of an issue.

I think Boris is insulting the status of the office of PM.
