Do you think that Identity politics is a real thing? Or its just a way of keeping different groups from discussing real issues which they have in common?

It absolutely is a real thing and it is destroying normal political discourse.

How else can we have people wrapping themselves in union jacks snd saluting statues in the name of patriotism, but who would not vote for a Party committed to help the people of the country by reducing inequality, improving education and bringing dignity to old age?

Its not a real thing. Its just politics.

Identity politics is term thrown around to dismiss arguments from anyone who does not identify as white, male, old, straight and English.
