Agree, he was trying to position himself as some sort of hero, working from within against a den of thieves and idiots. Couldn't watch his pitiful charade for too long as all I could think of was:

Dude, put on a fucking tie!

I hear what you say. Most political representatives are purely in it for financial rewards. Some aren’t and believe they are trying to fight for a cause..

Really though, can anyone really say whet the pm has done, isn’t likely to different than anyone else could have done?

It’s a global pandemic, we’re all fighting this hideous disease together.

Personally I think the vaccine roll out in the U.K. has been one of the best in the world..

Except that everything he said fitted exactly to the historical sequence of events that we all saw play out over the last 18 months or so.

If there are no significant consequences from this, then this once fair minded and temperate country of ours will be gone forever as a place for the rest of the world to look to for fairness, decency and honesty.

What needs to happen now is for all of these actors to give evidence under oath.

Anyone who still thinks that Johnson and his cabal of incompetents are the good guys, then your expectations must be very low indeeed.

“Tens of thousands of people didn’t need to die.” But they did from incompetence, dithering and an unwillingness to take advice from other countries. We all suspected that must be the case and yesterday it was spelled out that this was indeed what happened.

That testimony brought shame on our country for all sorts of different reasons.

He could and should have taken this seriously from the outset and he didn’t. Other countries around the world have had better outcomes than we have. We have had tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths and a very poor economic outcome. That is wholly and entirely due to the decision making at the head of Government. Why do you accept that no-one could have done any better? Look around the world - we have fared terribly.

We all suspected that Johnson wasn’t taking it seriously and yesterday we found out what we had suspected all along.

As for the vaccine rollout, the Government acquisition policy was correct - of course it was. But you know even had it not been you would still have had people saying the same thing about “unprecedented - who could have done it better etc”

Yes DC is a liar. However he is not the Cretan Liar. (Epimenides paradox for those who want to look it up). Which means that although he does not always tell the truth, neither does he always lie.

While undoubtedly DC is putting some spin to make himself look like a hero instead of just as culpable as the rest, much of his testimony does align with objective proof as documented over the last 18 months.

The allegations are serious enough that all concerned should be compelled to make sworn statements in a court of law, and any that conflict with recorded truth should then be prosecuted for perjury. The British people are deserving of the full truth in this matter.
