The FTSE 250 is close to ( or at ) an all time high b. Four companies in the FTSE 250 were the subject of take over bids in the last two weeks. It looks like we are on a post Brexit roll . I’m thinking ...your rosewood chairs are not ‘new’, but for you ...they are ‘new’ "The chairs are new (additional) because I didn’t have them before . Back to Amazon, as a consumer they are amazing, I use them all the time, they have created thousands of ‘new ‘ jobs, they have also caused companies to cease trading or scale back causing thousands off job losses. This isn’t a criticism of Amazon but a reality and the way the world is moving towards online shopping | |||

Fantastic for Dunhelm and I’m very pleased for them. Online cheaper costs and selective retail concentration is a winner for them. The following is a quickly compiled list of jobs probably lost once furlough ends and the true figures comes through. Administrators are able to furlough. The big ones we know are gone like Debenhams . Doesn’t look to rosy to me as the total on this short list is just over 45k jobs. People who say there is no problem on the high street need to open their eyes . Of course there will be firms who adapt but these names will take some replacing, especially with online growing ever more powerful. I’m saying it isn’t and celebrating more warehouse jobs at the expense of a higher number of retail jobs isn’t something to cenebrste as it’s not a positive overall. My only point on this whole post is that those mega corporations get away with paying virtually no tax in the U.K. as our tax law isn’t designed around them. That tax law needs changing as our corporation tax take will decrease and the average PAYE earner will be filling the gap. | |||
