Looks like Edwin Poots sets to outlaw recreational sex if he becomes leader of DUP. Heard it all now

Wow how disappointing. I'm sure there are some fantastic colourful members of the unionist community.

It sounds a lot to me like this "acceptance of differences" that you were talking about in the other thread doesn't apply to unionists?

"aww no doubt, edwin poots am sure is a lovely non judgmental fun guy as well as all those who are voting for him and the dup, the biggest representatives of unionists in the north"

For a guy who was posting about an inclusive non judgemental community this is pretty hypocritical tbh

that sounds like you guys are massively clutching at straws, the dup and the community that elects them are massively judgmental, homophobic, racist, condescending and intolerant, hate filled and negative ...its not hypocritical to point out that a dull colour would be more fitting for their negativity than the bright positive colour of orange ...hahaha but clearly my earlier point on that other discussion hit a raw nerve with some people who likely are very negative themselves and so are jumping in on this one ...hilarious

and no inclusive liberated non-judgmental communities dont include people who are opposed to inclusive liberated non-judgmental communities ..what a ridiculous thing to infer ...hilarious

Did you really just call a community all of those things?

are there some unionists who are more colourful and liberated etc, of course, but in general no the unionist community is represented by what i have descrived above, and the electoral figures are there for all to see going back decades, and that culture has been going back centuries...

I'm not sure I've ever heard blatant sectarianism on here but there it is. Shocked.

You are, of course, not figuring a huge driver behind voting choices here in Northern Ireland. Its incredibly naive to think that all unionists who actually vote for the DUP actually subscribe to that general way of thinking. But this is not the politics forum so I'll leave it there.

Yours,

A colourful, liberated, inclusive unionist who has never voted for the DUP in her life
