GBP has never been below the euro since 1999. It's a better performing currency. And the best in the world right now (excepting the Krona).

Be Happy. Don't Worry.

Following the Brexit referendum result, the Pound dropped sharply in value against the Euro.

‘The Pound fell 16% against the Euro in the 4 months following the Brexit referendum, including 6% on the actual day of the result.

The rate has yet to rebound to pre-Brexit levels’

Why hasn’t it regained its pre referendum levels?

"

Anyway, you have tried to derail the thread , let’s get back to the OP. The pound has averaged 1.30 to the Euro since 2002, it is now 1.16, sad times

In a World Pandemic and a Brexit it's actually fabulous - I wonder why all the other countries are having such a hard time of it?

I don’t know and tbh I don’t care

Then why bother commenting? I don't comment on any stuff that doesn't interest me."

I agree, have a look at this thread, who brought up what clothes I buy? Let’s get back to the OP, why is the pound so weak compared to the Euro ?

I mean basically, if you shout about what clothes you wear, then someone points out where they were actually made, then you shout about where you go on holiday, and that you're trying to fit in with a certain crowd, if you then try and use that to flex on the rest of us, and come up woefully short.. then..... "

The pandemic effects every country. So is broadly speaking hammering every economy in the world.

Things that effect exchange rates are more likely to be country specific. The easiest example is the brexit referendum which crashed the value of the pound the next day.

It's good to see a very slight recovery going on.

A stable currency is what's best for the economy. These fluctuations aren't anything to get excited or depressed about. Unless you're a currency trader.

Nearest - doesn't figure these days unless it's Far East. Only difference may be in carriage and volume cost.

The USA is a much larger market than the EU. Add the UK on top of that.

Two very very large companies in the EU are doing what I do - so not taking them on yet. Only one is doing what I do in the USA and that is at small scale (so research says so far) Aus don't have any at all.

Forward plan is the World and the Universe and Beyond.

Lol. Take us up a step.

I'm good but I don't think I'm that good. In all honesty, I think some people here are too far gone. "

Lol. Don't undersell yourself.

I thought you would at least stop crowing till it reached 1.17... I meant your last “let’s all get out the bunting” post on the matter went down like a lead balloon and you sloped off.....

"

Should have bought British,

Nope. I should have - and did - buy the product to spec and support to machine. All the support network is British too. British jobs in the UK from a German Company. Plus I'm supporting my husbands Niece who lives in Germany.

In you opinion.

Oh Dear.

Sorry, I ment , so you say .

I did wonder.

It is the job of all companies to find the best product at the best price with the best support. Mission Accomplished for this particular one.

If you say so, do you export to countries in the EU?

Oh I do say so. But then I would know wouldn't I, for this company. Call a Chamber of Commerce and ask them that question.

UK and USA currently. EU will come, but probably not until 22. And not till after Australia.

If you say so, good luck with that, not sure why you wouldn’t want to export to the largest and nearest trade block first , but you must have your reasons

"

Good luck, I am glad out EU neighbours could provide you with the machinery ,

Do you think ‘so you say’ and ‘in your opinion’ are responses that add much to a debate?

That would depend on what they are in response to. That's 'in my opinion', which is what you asked for
