So brussels is to present its proposal for an eu wide vaccination cert today to boost the tourist industry. The cert will only show EMA approved jabs so that leaves a couple of questions

1st what does this mean for people outside the eu, what if the EMA go back on their approval of the oxford vaccine will these people not get one ?2nd Is the eu trying to punish the countries who have gone their own way after such a fuck up and punishing those who have got the Russian and Chinese vaccine?

Why would they be looking to harm their own tourist industry on the basis of what type of vaccine ?

My point exactly but going by euronews thats exactly what they are proposing unless of course the EMA approve the russian and chinese vaccine then its the problem solved.

I never said you couldn’t, this is only a proposal and the EU members will make their own decision, nothing to worry about

Whilst I've not read the article it's probably a none story, some parts of the EU like certain areas of the UK are predominantly dependant on tourism so will ignore the type of vaccine albeit will require it for entry and use the negative test etc to assess entry..

I think given the new varients around at present and more to pop up it's going to be an unsettling time for the travel industry for a couple of years at least..

I suspect in practice the chances of Brussels having the ability to organise a secure reliable vaccine passport scheme is near zero for the next two years anyway.

Whatever actually happens will be a fudge

Leeds

Turkey has announced it will welcome any holidaymakers, no certificate required, so Europeans with Chinese or Russian vaccinations could go there.

Just saw on the news France are against it as it infringes on peoples personal data so guess its going to be like all the other eu decisions and take a few years to implement.
