Well the government are now free to step in, no blaming the EU, so let’s see if they are serious about addressing the imbalance in the economy & support for generally the north of Watford or rest of the UK. I’m sure something will get sorted one way or another x

"Well if they stopped others from importing steel and used what the U.K. produces instead then the industry might survive. Continuing to just pump millions into it is just pissing away money " Different kinds of steels. We can't compete on price on the mass produced stuff.

"& David Cameron is an advisor to the Bank that tanked. Dodgy investments putting workers at risk. Of course it should be news, why wouldn’t serious job loss risk be news! It is far more immediate than Brexit promise BS " Yep, it's pretty clear that Remainers like Dave Cameron have got no head for business at all. Very sad for the workers.

He called the Referendum and I doubt any Remainer would have done it the way he did. I mean we didn’t even have a voting majority in favour. For something so momentous, I would have insisted a majority of eligble voters must decide. At least that way we would know that a majority did actually vote for Brexit or not. We just ended up with no clear mandate, then led by succesive PMs with no clear idea, resulting in Brexit BS.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Seems pretty clear to me." A clear mandate would have been 50% of the eligible voters plus 1. 50% would have been 23.25m, Leave got 17.41m, so they were 5.84m short of having an absolute majority. Because of this, Brexit has never met the ‘fairness’ test in terms of it being a minority inflicting their views on the majority.

Well only a third of eligible voters wanted to remain by that logic lol" Which is why you usually put a simple majority of the voting population down for momentous decisions - then at least you would have a majority wanting change. The Tory Brexit did not achieve this, it led to no compelling or even arithmetic rationale to change. If we had a clear decision then the minority wouldn’t still get hacked off (the minority in this case was everyone who didn’t vote for Brexit)

"Hasn't UK steel been in trouble for years, as I seem to recall they have had a few handouts over the years." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1379501/brexit-news-deal-boris-johnson-tariffs-trade-steel-sector-spt/amp BREXIT will bring many opportunities for the steel sector as the industry was decimated inside the single market, Conservative MP John Redwood has said in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
