Hair dressers, window cleaners, small Shopes, etc" I think you answer that question in the question you ask. It's the Black Economy - as in hidden from view. Without taking people to a HMRC interview room or depending on the real and true honesty of people - what can be done. More investigators, bigger fines or prison sentences is the only route. One avenue is the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge regime for Construction Industry (DRC) will push out many subcontractors from the construction industry, or make them register properly. | |||
