"You have to believe the press 1st. But not the mail or express " i read plenty of things but dont feel the need to post them i wait until i know its true.Only today i was reading Barnier has ambitions of being the French president and macrons team are worried that he will take too many votes off him and let le penn in. I know its only press speculation so take it with a pinch of salt.

"Reading the accusations that Whitty and Boris are at loggerheads because Whitty refuses to endorse the governments roll out plan for schools. If this is true who would you believe? Not an easy one. I originally thought just science but maybe they are too cautious this time? " It's a tough one.

"Reading the accusations that Whitty and Boris are at loggerheads because Whitty refuses to endorse the governments roll out plan for schools. If this is true who would you believe? Not an easy one. I originally thought just science but maybe they are too cautious this time? " Well the Science said that Schools shouldn't have gone back last time - the country was screaming 'no way don't send them back . . . they are infecting everybody'. Turns out the Science later on proved that that wasn't even nearly close to the case. Still the Government got the flack for it. Now nearly everyone is shouting 'Get them back to School' and the Government is being cautious - and still getting the flack for it. Also remember that it depends on what news outlet you read as to what the political point scoring is. There has to be a median line between the Science and the Ministers at some point. But also think of this: The Future of our country forecasts that it will be run by people that were taught by homeschoolers, who drink during the day.

"compensating for the loss of education and allowing children to catch up is also a good opportunity to permanently alter school attendance by reducing holidays from 13 weeks to 4 or 5 and lenghtening the school day to 7½ hours " yes that would do for me and when they leave school they won’t expect 13 weeks of a yr lol

" Seems there is a lot of 'What Newspaper do you . . ?' Zealotry on here. Not really. Really? You think? Seems an awful lot of them to rate a 'Not really'." I think it's fair to ask,if someone rates a paper the worst of the lot, they should be asked, what is the best then? Dont you?

"But that wasn't what I was pointing at. I was pointing at the fact that every time a debate opens invariably someone says: 'Oh did you read that in that newspaper' and just as invariably it is asked in a snide way and not merely as a question born out of interest for the posters reading habits. It's a term of batting away proper discussion, or belittling - in an overly zealous way. " it makes them feel superior and smarter but I doubt many read the times on here but it wouldn’t stop them pretending they do lol I’ll read any but never the sun but that’s because of what they did to the great people of Liverpool

"an excerpt from the article which johnson himself commissioned, edited and published in The Spectator Oct 2004 .. "The deaths of more than 50 Liverpool football supporters at Hillsborough in 1989 was undeniably a greater tragedy than the single death, however horrible, of Mr Bigley; but that is no excuse for Liverpool’s failure to acknowledge, even to this day, the part played in the disaster by d*unken fans at the back of the crowd who mindlessly tried to fight their way into the ground that Saturday afternoon. The police became a convenient scapegoat, and the Sun newspaper a whipping-boy for daring, albeit in a tasteless fashion, to hint at the wider causes of the incident." " "Union leader accuses Jack Straw of failing Hillsborough victims. Len McCluskey, who was at 1989 match, says former home secretary should hang head in shame over discredited review Len McCluskey, the union leader who witnessed first-hand the Hillsborough tragedy 27 years ago, has accused Jack Straw of letting down the victims by failing to order a proper inquiry in 1997. The general secretary of Unite said the former home secretary should “hang his head in shame” for overseeing a discredited review when Tony Blair came to power."
