Economic Impact Study

The U.K. is holding back its plan for evaluating the economic impact of new trade deals, which was prepared before Prime Minister Boris Johnson signed the post-Brexit agreement with the European Union.

According to an internal email seen by Bloomberg, the Department for International Trade was ready in mid-December to release a 20-page document -- also seen by Bloomberg -- committing the government to regular monitoring and evaluation reports of free-trade agreements signed by the U.K.

That was days before Johnson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen brought the tortured Brexit process to an end on Christmas Eve, striking a deal to ensure zero-tariff trade in goods between Britain and its biggest trading partner following its split from the bloc.

Why should the goverment be held accountable in any way?

We voted them in and have full confidence in absolutely everything they do.

Every trade deal that has been agreed, whether by Liz Truss or Lord Frost has gone through internal scrutiny and procedures to ensure that it is of benifit for the UK and is World beating.

We won - people have to realise this and move on.

We will not publish studies as to how this or that decision was beneficial. They have all been beneficial.

We all knew what we voted for and therefore accept without any question that the government has the interests of the taxpayers at heart.

The UK is leading the World in trade deals and now that we are away from the evil clutches of the EU, we have the chance to regain what we had in a bygone age.

We know what we voted for and it is getting done.

We will never question..

Love it when the purposefully naive quote Bloomberg as a source. He was one of the most rabid anti Brexiteers and almost certainly has many billions at stake betting against us.

We are laughing at him.

I rigidly focus on bringing only cold, hard, logical cogitations into threads.
