What I'm interested in, is are they going to call is something decisive, like one of your suggestions, "brexit festival" etc. I'm guessing it will be labelled something like "Festival Of Great Britain".

"A festival to celebrate British creativity & innovation and all I can see is Remainers taking the piss. No wonder the UK is so fucking divided. Get a grip all of you and let's start trying to work together to make it better. No some people just cannot move on. It’s not a question of moving on .. The country has shown its split , its has shown its divide .. I don’t want a cup of tea and a pat on the back and a let’s all be friends again cheery handshake .. Rees Mogg and a handful of people won. The rest of us lost. Get over it. A handful i thought the majority voted to leave didnt they? What's that way people voted got to do with it? A few people at the top got richer. The rest of us lost out. Get over it.The way that the freeloaders in brussels have performed on the vaccine roll out has fully justified my reason for wanting to leave and has only confirmed my belief i was right so im a winner. Me get over it its you who needs to move on now and start backing your country instead of sulking for the rest of your life. So now complying without question is "backing the country" and dissent is "sulking for the rest of your life". Good hustle. " you know the saying mate if the cap fits.

Get a grip all of you and let's start trying to work together to make it better. We're taking the piss out of the "brexit festival" or the "British empire" festival. I've been asking for clarification from the OP of how he sees it. But no luck with an answer so far. As per the poster above, the original Great Exhibition of the Empire in 1851 did sound pretty fantastic, workers travelled from across the country, Liverpool, Manchester etc to attend: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Exhibition So that would be more up my street than woke poetry performances, but I respect everyone’s positive suggestions. So more of a unity festival than a "fuck the remainers" fest?" You seem determined to foster division. I see it as a “content” festival, like in 1851. At that festival, visitors admired steam engines and tapestries, plants and animals, orchestras and instruments from all over the Empire.

" Are we talking about the Empire that was built by invading other countries violently for most and oppressing them whilst pretending educating them and helping them as people were told at school at the time and afterwards? Is that the empire that you keep raving about? I’m going to stop feeding you after this, as the purpose of this thread like every single thread you create is to scratch your opponents’ itch. Nothing else. What a sad person you are revelling in some of your compatriots’ sadness and disappointment of leaving the EU. So sad to see this country so divided because of Brexit. Continental countries have all got their own problems but I’d be surprised if any of them had the same hatred opposing two camps. From what I know from my travels in Europe, people over there live their life, get up in the morning, go to work and get on with their business without even thinking of the EU every day. It’s just part and parcel of their lives. Of course they have a debate before presidential or general elections about the EU but that’s all. They’re not obsessed by it in the way we are/ were. But hey, we had to find a scapegoat to blame for our own shitshows. Enough for me on this thread. See you on another one of your topics. Let’s guess: how british guinea fowl surpasses the EU guinea fowl; sceptic tanks smell so much better in Yorkshire since we left the EU etc...

"And loads of former remainers, like Mandelson, Rudd, organisations like the Tate, have all swung behind it. It’s going to be a great celebration: https://www.festival2022.uk/news How come the dropped the word "brexit" from the festival title? If you read the link and the info, you will see they haven’t chosen the exact title yet, will be something like Festival of the New British Empire Britain First Independent Britannia Etc " Britain First?? That is hilarious, you obviously have no idea

"I don’t know if trolling is meant to be reported to moderators or if topics are moderated regularly but this diarrhoea of threads posted with the only purpose of provoking or trolling is getting a bit annoying. They are obviously frustrated at the way Brexit has gone and have to make up stories to try and validate their decision. I wouldnt want them to have their topics stopped as they provide such hilarious comedy value and show the true reason why some voted to leave I admire the OPs immunity to information, logic and reasoning. As soon as someone asks a question or points out they were incorrect they stop replying or change the subject. I just couldn't do it. In your mind, what haven’t I answered? It’s not my festival, I didn’t start it, I’ve reported what’s been said in the mainstream media. If it was my choice I’d model it on the 1851 exhibition as myself and others have said. Is this the same festival that T May proposed in 2018? Yep, Boris supported it in 2019 and it’s going ahead as I’ve reported I have had a look on their website, it has nothing to do with Brexit, And yet the Guardian article I linked says it does. The BBC are the lead broadcasters of the event though and it will coincide with 100 years since their foundation in 1922, that will please the anti BBC brigade on here " There you go then they will bring brexit into it somehow
