"It is interesting how everyone attacks the BBC. It comesfrom the right, it comes from the left. If this is the case it must be getting it right by being impartial to either side " Above, you said you heard someone on the radio defending the BBC. ? But to take your point, using 'everyone' in a sentence is just plain silly. Clearly 'everyone' doesn't hate the BBC. Just as 'everyone' doesn't love the BBC.

"The BBC are a commercial media organisation, here in the UK alone not only do they have the TV & radios stations everyone knows & www.bbc they also own the UKTV network including Dave, Yesterday & Drama amongst others all commercial based. They also own various world BBC TV stations such as BBC Canada either as joint ventures or on their own not to mention Britbox here with ITV, as well as other money generating commercial interest. Yet we are expected to pay the telly tax for a TV station that neither represents us or shows us what we want & at the same time as pushing us their elite bubble dwellers left wing liberal world opinions & views & agendas. Stop paying the telly tax. Xx" Can you provide 5 examples of this left wing bbc bias? Any 5 will do.

"That's probably why nearly half a million people cancelled their tv licence last year. Or maybe it was because they decided to go after pensioners even though they had promised they wouldn't. The contracts enable people to make their own arrangements to pay tax and National Insurance, which could allow them to contribute less than employees on pay-as-you-earn tax. What the BBC actually did was to ‘encourage’ their presenters etc to set up personal service companies that would employ said presenters and the BBC would then deal with these companies direct. The BBC would then not have to deal with PAYE and would save on the employers NIC. The benefit to the staff would be that they would take a minimal salary out of the company and the balance in dividends, which is both tax and NIC beneficial to the employee. There were also a lot more employees who were employed as freelancers and there

"https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/jan/21/dominic-cummings-thinktank-called-for-end-of-bbc-in-current-form Not beyond the realms of possibility." It'll have to change, eventually. Roughly 2/3 of people don't want to pay the licence fee - and that's unsustainable. Personally, I get a lot out of the BBC; particularly their radio content - but the time is, inevitably, going to come when you pay for what you want, from what's on offer. No licence fee will, logically, reduce content - but it doesn't have to reduce quality. If, as I suspect, it goes subscription - available all over the world - I reckon it'll survive.

"Anyway, back to the BBC - We don’t watch live tv like many others these days, so yes the market has changed. The public face of the BBC is very pro European and left wing. And many of those who work in broadcasting say that the BBC wastes huge amounts of money employing far more people than necessary considering its output. I’ve been to a few BBC sites for work and seen this myself. " How is the bbc left wing when there are countless examples of right wing bias?

"Academics reckon extremists on both sides are equally susceptible to conspiracy theories: Journal of social and political psychology: “A large volume of academic research has demonstrated that individuals who profess radical political ideology, both left- and right-wing, tend to share similar underlying psychological patterns. By utilizing data collected through a voting advice application in Sweden, this study aims to assess whether extreme leftists and rightists share similarities in the psychological and political understanding of how society functions. We propose three hypotheses to test this pattern: Extreme left and right individuals are more inclined to believe in conspiracy theories than moderates.” From the LSE, pretty left wing as it goes: “Conspiracy theories are a feature of political discourse across the United States and Europe, but are some types of voters more likely to believe in conspiracy theories than others? Jan-Willem van Prooijen presents findings from a study of belief in conspiracy theories among individuals in the Netherlands and the U.S. He writes that those on the extreme left and right of the political spectrum, together with those who are more likely to have faith in there being simple solutions to complex political problems, are substantially more likely to also believe in conspiracy theories.”" Are you implying that leavers and trump supporters are extremists?

Claiming it's left or right leaning doesn't make for a strong argument.

This list of things and people you don't like. Isn't left wing bias. Using Lineker as an example is silly. He has the experience and knowledge to present football based shows. Just because you don't like him speaking out against racism and not pandering to the anti immigrant narrative, doesn't mean the BBC are displaying left wing bias. Do better. Give some real life examples so we can see what you guys mean.

"The bbc is far from perfect. However I'm sure things will improve when its gone and we move to an American type system, where right wing crackpots can spew their vitriol 24 hrs a day and masquerade it as news. There aren’t any right wing news outlets in America. Fox, Newsmaxx, OAN, Breitbart, redstate, daily caller.....I could go on." Only Fox News is readily available in the USA. How is the bbc left wing when there are countless examples of right wing bias? It’s my opinion based on its output and that it’s publicly funded. I can get past that however. The waste I’ve seen first hand and is the reason I want my money to go elsewhere. Robin Aitken's book 'Can We Trust The BBC' was damning of their institutional bias There are some eye opening interviews with him on YouTube What bias was this? Even if you wouldn't buy the book I assume you have access to YouTube You have watched it..what examples..considering there are countless examples of tory bias. Give me an example of your claim please Lionel & please don’t use your normal sources of bias or that of ofcom the organisation where ex BBC employees go to work x show me one say from a reliable source please xx" See above

Maybe I need to avoid picking the low hanging fruit and just reply to people making genuine points. Time to ignore the trolls.

It was you quoted the individuals with most appearance list. And when it turned out all the top 8 were remainers and 7 of them left wing you didn’t like your list any more. It’s your credibility on the line when you keep referencing things then backtracking when someone actually reads it.

"I love when people claim something (ie the bbc is left wing)provide no credible whatsoever.. and when presented with alternative facts.. completely ignore it. " (Alternative facts.... wasn’t that a Trump quote? Lol) I’m struggling a little to place many of the examples you quoted. Johnson swerving Neil doesn’t sound particularly biased Neil is a great interviewer. Nick Robinson is less woke for sure but don’t know how he votes.

"I love when people claim something (ie the bbc is left wing)provide no credible whatsoever.. and when presented with alternative facts.. completely ignore it. " What facts have you proved? When you listen to the bbc you never notice the way they ask a Tory a gotcha question & before they answered they’ start the next or start pulling them because they didn’t say what they wanted. Yet Labour get an easy question & time to respond & never cross questioned. It’s like when you see the look of disdain when interviewing a Tory they can’t help themselves. Its like with Trump how many years did they go on about Russian interference yet none proven & every other story they could come up with to satisfy their hatred of the cretin, yet straight away with Biden no signs of voter fraud without even investigating it (& I’m not saying there was). The same with the way they reported the what I hope we agree disgusting attack on Washington compared to the riots of a few months back, burning luting & many more deaths described as mainly peaceful you could see the flames burning yet described as mainly peaceful by the BBC yet equally as disgusting so you can see why people can see the bias & call it out xx

I like his program but he has a habit of asking a question and not allowing the person to answer. First I thought it was only when politicians started waffling as they do but even when they attempt to give a straight explanation he interrupts. What's the point in asking questions and not listening to the answers

Just because a presenter Is on a wedge doesn't mean its left wing. The examples you are given are simply your interpretation of something. To be honest I cant recall a time when Johnson has actually been asked difficult questions. And when he does..he just blisters and says something in Latin.

"To be honest I cant recall a time when Johnson has actually been asked difficult questions. " clearly every wednesday when there has been PMQ's involving Sir Kier Starmer, when Johnson 'gets his arse handed to him' on every occassion.
