Trump Is in Twitter jail for the next 12 hours....

You know he is going to be fuming about now.....

The last 2 tweets that got him sent to jail maybe the most tone deaf in the last 4 years

It is amazing that it has taken this long, he should have been banned after the false election fraud allegations. He will have to go to Parler who have 5 million active users compared to twitters 321 million

the moves he's currently making he may well end up in San Quentin reform school for boys wearing a jumpsuit that matches his complexion, rather than twitters virtual gaol.

After what has happened in the Capitol, it's going to be interesting to see if the USA is going to bring the full weight of the law against these angry, white, American, caught on camera fuckwits - who have been happy to do what no brown, foreign terrorist has ever been able to do.

Or will they just get their wrists slapped?

it's quite possible that the future justice secretary will start an investigation into conspiracy and demand that social media hand over all data traffic to see to what extent the co-ordination of yesterdays events were orchestrated and by whom.

there are a plethora of actors involved from far right extremist terror groups such as the 'proud boys', whose leader issued threats of continued violence whilst under arrest to those elected to office such as qanon supporter marjory taylor green and if conections are made and collusion is proved then then the ramifications would be seismic.

trump has used twitter to activate and mobilise the various elements of his assault on the democratic process, the constitution and the republic.

from Mitt Romneys speech yesterday and the standing ovations it recieved, it is now clear that those in congress and the senate who saught to overturn the mandate of the majority of american people are considered to be complicit in the attempted coup.

the shockwaves of yesterday will continue for some time to come.

Arrest and prosecute all involved to the fullest extent of the law.

Don't overstep the law, but apply the law in the most forceful way possible.

Good post..

In some ways trump's and his close associates actions in what took place yesterday has already moved those in the republican party who can now rightly stand by the constitution rather than the cult..

They need to Lance the sore and try to salvage something cohesive not only for 2024 but four years after..

The rioters are fringe and the Republicans will shun and reject their actions yesterday, hopefully due process and the rule of law will have its say and the toxic self interests of trump and his clan will suffer..

This..

The footage of what happened yesterday is a national shame and the very core of what America is or claims to be was threatened ..

That reality will need to be addressed simply to try and restore the principles of the Republic..

the vast majority who voted for trump will be as disgusted by the actions of the rioters as their democrat neighbours..

Agreed. This is a fringe, but it is a fringe that has been empowered by the President.

The rule of law underpins stable society.

The rule of law must win the day.

But surely its difficult to manage the likes of facebook and Twitter?

And do things work like that on America?

Trump has clearly broken the law..but can you honestly ever imagine him sitting in clink?

Facebook and Twitter are businesses subject to the laws in countries where they operate.

That will have factored into their suspension of Trump.

It will be interesting to see if laws about responsibility for hosting content are examined after this.

It's a good opportunity for such platforms to pass over any data they may have from individuals planning to commit a federal crime..

FBI are seeking information on the insurrectionists. Normal service will be resumed at the Justice dept in 2 weeks. Social media will send these traitors to prison.

I hope so.

I wish they'd applied it with similar force as they did in the summer. Or maybe less, but, you know, one law for all ffs
