Decisiveness

Apparently, Rishi Sunak said 'The PM acted "decisively" in announcing a new lockdown in England "in the face of new information"'.

It is also the case that Boris Johnson, the very same PM, said he had “no choice” but to plunge England into a third national lockdown.

In this case, 'acting decisively' and 'not having a choice' are mutually exclusive. If Boris had made a choice, rather than be forced into one, that would have been decisive; but he didn't - so he wasn't.

It wasn't new information, either. Unless he hadn't been paying attention; which, admittedly, is possible.

Someone who needs even a metaphorical gun put to his head before he will take an important decision is not leadership material.

Not that we didn't know that already.

Well, the most devastating things he's right about is that Boris being in charge has cost lives. People have, literally died due to his indecisiveness.

Not as many as died due to Blair's decisiveness, to be fair - but it's still not good enough.

Subtle way to announce your running for leader.

For all the critism that can fired Johnsons way, indecision would be near the top.
