"Maybe a by-election coming ??" She won’t stand down unless she has to, that’s what hypocrites do. It’s hard to leave the trough once you’ve got your snout in it. X

"Maybe a by-election coming ??" Possible but unlikely. I think if she's charged and found guilty, then she probably wouldn't get a custodial sentence. She's not been fiddling her expenses. That only leaves being suspended by the Speaker. These are the only recourse to a recall petition. Her constitunency is a labour/snp flip seat.

But the recall act only comes into play if the act you are being charged with carries a sentence of more that 9 months I think.... That’s not happening in this case

Sentence less than 1 year - triggers the recall process (1 in 10 sign petition in constituency) The Fiona Onasanya case is probably the best example of the recall process in action (she was sentenced to only 3 months ) The Ian paisley jnr case was triggered by his suspension for 30days from the house - however the constituency petition didn’t reach the 1 in 10 number

I wasn’t making reference to any political party in particular, they get suspended or resign the party whip & try to stay as long as they can x. & I’m not taking anything away from the many MP’s on all sides that do actually work on behalf of their constituents again on all sides x

"To be fair, the SNP disowned her fairly sharpish! " Yes they went as far as the rules allowed. Unfortunately for the SNP she was one of their own and some will still make the link for a while

"Police Scotland statement – “We can confirm officers today arrested and charged a 60-year-old woman in connection with alleged culpable and reckless conduct” " Good. Although it's not going to make the difference you hope it should.
