The ONLY interesting thing will be to see how many straws they can find to cling to......its over, done, finished. Not one verifiable shred of evidence to back up Trumps maniacal claim of fraud has been shown....none, zip, zilch, nada....its the last graspings of a few who cannot admit defeat. Even Adolf Hitler admitted defeat in the end but these guys????????? Seriously, it's over, they just need to have the balls to say it.

All this bitching and whining and hysterical shouting will do is split the Republican party and make them POTENTIALLY unelectable for 2024 (if they already aren't).

"Not so much the count it's the protests."

Indeed it's been over two months since the Election results were announced and Trump's supporters must be fearing it's the end of the line.

Is Senator Ted Cruz's heart in this or is he just going along with it to placate the Trump Fanbase?

The little I do know it could be a 10 day enquiry into the alleged voting irregularities.

Fracking is still going to happen. Biden has no control over privately controlled lands. Rejoining the accords will only benefit federal lands. So rejoining the accords will happen but it has no effect on some energy sectors.

Pretty much. Democrats where we live have been horrible and extremely corrupt. Hence why Trump took the vote in our county with ease. The Irishman and alot of Mafia stories come from this area.

It is but we not fully there yet. Being energy independent should be a goal to avoid oil wars ect... I don't see the US giving into the climate accords at this point. On paper yes biden will executive order back in but it will not mean anything. It's just a paper tiger offering to the rest of the world.

To what extent? There is no type of enforcement at all for the accords. Countries can still do as they wish. Change future emissions targets ect. . It's kind of a redundant approach. Natural gas is currently the #1 best clean burning fuel. We are in a position to supply that better globally. So that other sectors of the green energy market can truly take hold. But nope let's just shut everything thing down because the world says so. I say no let the

gas industry help support until a time when green energy can truly take over. Because right now the windmills here are a joke.

You can read up about it. The US has a big part to play.

There isn't enough space here to explain the benefits. Even in summary.

Natural Gas isn't "clean". Simply put, you're moving carbon, that was removed from the atmosphere millions of years ago and stored underground, and putting it back there.

What’s wrong the electoral system in the US? The actual voting procedure is fucked. Postal voting is insecure thanks to untrustworthy postal services and there are questions being raised about electronic voting systems (I’m not interested in a debate here, just stating a point).

The electoral college system is actually quite a savvy way to ensure equal representation between states. I don’t understand how you could argue for anything else over there?

Do you have credible evidence to substantiate your 'point' regarding postal voting and electronic voting? If you do, give this number a call, 202-456-1414. It's the White House switchboard. If you're shy, I can call them on your behalf. I look forward to hearing your evidence.

Yes, the electoral college, where you can win the presidency with a minority of the vote. The electoral college ensures that in Wyoming, there are 578,000 people and three electoral votes, which is equivalent to one electoral vote for every 190,000 voters. However, in California, there are about 40 million people and fifty-five electoral votes, which is equivalent to one for every 700,000 voters. And then there's the winner takes all aspect. When candidate A wins 55% of the vote in a state, the 45% of candidate B are disregarded when voting in the electoral college.

I didn’t say I had ‘proof’ of anything, just highlighting the integrity questions Trumps legal team have raised as their whole reason for calling the result into dispute - so don’t speak to me like a dick.

And yeah the electoral college system isn’t perfect but it was established to balance the states by population. Unless you’ve got something better up your sleeve it’s probably the best system for fair state representation in the election process that I can see. Otherwise the coastal states would dominate. That’s not particularly fair in my opinion.

Really? Things were so good under Obama and Biden last time that people went for Trump

Last time, Obama and Biden weren't an option. It was Clinton who, as I am sure you remember, clearly won the popular vote. The Americans electoral system is even worse than ours.

So like Trump's legal team, you don't have any factual evidence? Your point has no foundation in truth, is that fair to say?

States can abolish the winner takes all system, that wouldn't require an ammendment. So you prefer a system that is biased towards geography opposed to population?

My ‘point’ was that there are questions being raised about electric voting machines. That is a fact. Postal services are useless in the states (from personal experience and feedback aggregator sites too).

I prefer a system in a constitutional republic where each member state has equal electoral power as opposed to population density yes.

It's more accurate to say there had been no credible factual questions raised in this election cycle regarding electronic voting. Questions that have no credibility or basis in fact are at best a distraction and at worst a conspiracy theory.

Similarly with regard to mail in voting, is there any credible fact based claims worth investigating.

The one survey (REVIEW OF POSTAL SERVICE FY2013 PERFORMANCE REPORT AND FY 2014 PERFORMANCE PLAN) I have looked at regarding USPS customer satisfaction shows 79% of customers were happy with the service received.

So in favouring geography, don't you encourage a tyranny. of the minority?

It’s a lot less than 79% when you take a look at review aggregators. But it’s by the by.

In terms of your view on the tyranny of a minority - It’s an interesting way to view it but what is the other option? It’s a constitutional republic with democratic elements, not the other way around. It’s been designed from the ground up to maintain the state and the Union above all. In all seriousness how long would it be before isolated or low population states became antagonistic or openly hostile towards the government if they became disenfranchised? Or worse started withholding resources from those states with higher populations? Potentially secede? It’s not a simple problem to solve but I think the electoral college system takes a pretty good stab at it.

Lol, we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas. I have already suggested that states eliminate the winner takes all approach when allocating EC votes.

The preamble to the constitution states the intention was to form a more perfect union. It is meant to be work in progress, to use Washington's term America is a 'great experiment'. Not fixed for eternity.

Is it right the minority overrules the majority backed by the threat of violence or secession. Would the reverse be fair?

Is it right that the majority dominates the minority based purely on population density then? When smaller states that have infrastructures that feed or manufacture for the larger more cosmopolitan ones? It’s supposed to be a reciprocal relationship between the states. One can’t exist without the other (unless it goes full Hunger Games and larger states brutalise the smaller). That relationship would have to fall down if the smaller states weren’t getting equal representation in elections. If there are other reforms that can take place without losing their equal standing then they’re welcome to try. As you say the US was founded as an experiment after all. But I don’t see the republic lasting if you strip the central and mid western states of their electoral power. Doesn’t really matter if you or I think it’s fair or not.

You are right need to figure out a better way. I don't think the electoral college is a fair system . Practically our whole state voted red. Only certain countries voted blue. Biden won the popular vote in those counties with more population density.

If you applied that to Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania, say said the majority of counties in the state voted for trump, so this state's EC votes will go to trump?

That's one of the issues. It be more fair if ec votes went by districts or counties according to the popular vote in those areas. Not all 20 at once going to one canidate. When we vote it is tallied by counties then state. The same should be for the ec.

Wouldn't that disproportionately have a bigger impact on Black voters which tend to be in the cities?

How so there is bigger population counts in major cities. Just the same as EC across the states. Pa. Has 20 compared like maine who has 4. So in the same respect how does pennsylvania out rule maine ec. Crazy isn't it

But if you're going to distribute EC votes by area and the black population is heavily concentrated in smaller geographical areas, doesn't that mean that the smaller population distributed over a larger area has disproportionate outsized number of EC votes?

Ec votes should be distributed according to voter registration. Not a winner take all. A voter is a voter not a racial undertone. Plenty of black people vote I don't get your point on the black vote. In retrospect what about the hispanic vote or the korean and Chinese vote. A voter is a voter don't you think ?

So would a more equitable and representative suggestion to be that winner takes all is put aside and the state's EC votes are shared between the candidates share of the state vote?

Counties or districts should have their ec votes according to population counts. Philadelphia as a example should get more then where we live. How can Rural areas compete with larger cities if it's a winner take all ? Shouldn't the rural areas have their own ec vote not just the state. This is the problem with the EC vote. The popular vote is what should count not the EC. Overall state counts. Ec is antiquated.

No you give a higher density county more ec votes.like they do state wise. But breaking the state vote to a county or district level instead of state.

Colour me unsurprised that Republicans can't even bring themselves to say that an actual attempt to stop democracy is wrong.

Protesting by attacking the police and trying to subvert democracy. Uh huh.

This is of course what happens when a "President" spends weeks telling people an election is rigged, with no evidence, and riles people up.

And virtually no Republicans lifted a finger to stop him.

What an absolutely awful party.

it does doesn't it. USA outwardly seems an incredibly violent place especially politicaly. quite a lot like some other countries on the news such as iraq, south africa or uganda in lots of ways. shame really as it has a bit of potential to be a nice country if peace broke out.

It would be a nice country if we stop defense spending and sending money to foreign countries. Let other countries take care of their own. It's the perfect solution.
