Creates 5300 new engineering jobs and plans to upgrade 27000 vehicles to electric by 2030.

How is this possible when leaving the EU means we're dooooomed?

Do you just put a post up now when there is a possibility of some jobs becoming available?

There is a paper round going by ours.

It's a pointless question but I'm guessing you wont be posting when jobs are lost?

They will take on 5000 engineers, get all the upgrades and installs done and then lay them all off again.

And when they say create they actually mean take on subbies on price work which they will have to work all the hours to make a living

What, there are 5000 subbie engineers just sitting around waiting for work?

Contracts to do a particular job are nothing new and have been widely used for decades. 5000 more contracts being made is good news - well to my thinking anyway

Jobs will go and jobs will be created but you rarely hear the good news on the propoganda channels like the BBC. They interviewed Boris at an Open reach training centre but failed to mention the reason why he was there. The same as last week when he was at that battery place in the North East. All I know is that while driving around over the last couple of years there are offices and business premises shooting up all over the place

You dont get it do you?

Because of Brexit people will lose their jobs.

That Is a fact.

Can you not understand that?

Just because their ministers of progranda spout their usual bullshit..it doesn't matter.

People are going to go out of business and lose their jobs.

I fail to see how you cant grasp that.

There were 3 people on 5 live last week who were desperately worried.. are you gonna tell them to cheer up?

yes I’d be very unhappy why ask a stupid question like that mate but you or I don’t know how many jobs will go or be created after brexit every employer will blame any losses on brexit and the government will blame covid let’s see how the unemployment figures are in 12 months then you will have a decent idea

The here and now? A fools paradise because it places the person in a position to remove responsibility for future consequences, say what you want and do what you want and ignore tomorrow. Reminds me of a car salesman, sell the car, if the wheels falls off tomorrow, not my problem.

I think all those who support brexit are workers in sale, trying to convince you to buy an idea.

Why are you posting this as groundbreaking news in a country like uk where you claim to be the 5th economy in the world and you say 5000 mabey jobs is a news item,

In my country of 4half million people every few months we have a announcement that companys like Google or Intel or Wyeth or any of the blue chip international companys based here say another few thousand jobs, and nobody bats a eyelid, difference is between us and you north of England is that the population of ROI are highly educated, you guys are fixataded on your now post industrial skills,

The mines and shipyards and steel plants of Yorkshire and Lancashire are gone and never coming back, your only hope for your young people is education, and the ruleing class in England will never educate the children of the north,I worked in Manchester as a traseidant construction worker in the 80s and the young people of the area were written off by the, what were called yuppies, from the people south of Watford,

The Brexit sentiments were beginning at that time, but what the people didn't realise was that it was a below Watford media that blamed europe for all north England problems, but the "home counties" were booming,

When Brexit is Done these problems from the 80s will still be there,

Why do you keep trying to tell us that people in the ROI are highly educated? Do you have some kind of chip on your shoulder? Because everyone knows that the jobs created there were down to lower business taxes than the rest of the EU and that's it pure and simple

Is this the same BT presently cutting 13000 office jobs across the U.K. by reducing their centres from 30 to 9?

Both new jobs and lost jobs are nothing to do with Brexit. It’s just an evolving business. Good news if you’re a technician. Not so great if you’re in the office or warehouse.

When Brexit is Done these problems from the 80s will still be there,

If it was the other way around and 5000 jobs lost do you think remainers would not mention it?

1000s of jobs have gone in the last few months, and were not referred to on here."

you never comment on the jobs created on here but your not the only remainer who does that

Jackal speaks sense as per.

The loss/creation of jobs is just business evolution. Always has been, always will be.
