Why do so many other countries want to leave the EU?

From 2019, maybe worse now with the EU delay in vaccine approval:

“The Swedish eurosceptic party Sweden Democrats (SW) has issued a dire warning to Brussels, suggesting the Scandinavian country could very well leave the bloc unless eurocrats accept to make substantial changes to its core institutions. A shocking poll in 2017 suggested more than half of The Netherlands would prefer to quit the EU.

Ms Fordwich continued: "There were rumours of Nexit, the Dutch leaving and The Netherlands, and Swexit after the right swing in Sweden.

"That’s the fear. The Dutch and the Swedish are two they fear might want to go."

Daily demonstrations in France and Spain, youngsters fleeing their countries in droves in search of work.

“Recent years have witnessed the emigration of young Spanish people searching for labor opportunities. A decade after the beginning of the worldwide economic crisis in 2007, the rapid deterioration of living conditions and lack of opportunities for personal development combined with the breakdown of professional expectations have led thousands of young people to emigrate from Spain, creating the so-called youth exodus.“

Oooh, light the blue touch paper and walk away!

To be fair, some of those reports are quite old. I do know of some discontent in Europe but never enough to actually want to leave.

The upcoming French elections could well be a good litmus test.

I've lived in Spain and witnessed that myself, it's tragic and torn families apart. The introduction of the the EURO has been a disaster for them

By So many you mean 2 and over 3 years ago, you should maybe use more relevant information. Not even here do people seem to think it was a good idea looking at polls since the referendum.

https://whatukthinks.org/eu/questions/in-highsight-do-you-think-britain-was-right-or-wrong-to-vote-to-leave-the-eu/

It's good to see you given up on economical arguments though.

How many of those countries have actually left?"

https://www.statista.com/statistics/755369/opinions-on-having-a-referendum-about-eu-membership-in-the-netherlands/

The majority of Dutch people don't want a referendum.

A poll in June showed 57.2 % of Swedes view EU membership as poistive.

Also in June Spain showed a 60% positive view of membership.

These are literally the countries you cite only more recently...Stop kidding yourself.

People actually have an idea of what is going to be like now, not sure old scare stories that worked in 2016 will hold much water although there's no doubt there would be underhand tactics again.

I don't think you can give polls the time of day that's the point. Polls in 2015 and 2016 also said that remain would win but I can give you some more up to date FACTS if you Like and not just opinions.

Leave won the referendum - FACT

The Brexit party became the biggest UK party in the EU parliament - FACT

The Tories won an 80 seat majority by promising the result of a democratic decision taken by the British people would be carried out - FACT

The UK left the EU in January of this year - FACT

Any opiniones now are mute and pointless really

"From 2019, maybe worse now with the EU delay in vaccine approval:

A decade after the beginning of the worldwide economic crisis in 2007, the rapid deterioration of living conditions and lack of opportunities for personal development combined with the breakdown of professional expectations have led thousands of young people to emigrate from Spain, creating the so-called youth exodus.“"

Why would you assume that only British people are easily fooled?

Sure there are people in every country that believe their equivalents of the Daily Mail.

"From 2019, maybe worse now with the EU delay in vaccine approval:

A decade after the beginning of the worldwide economic crisis in 2007, the rapid deterioration of living conditions and lack of opportunities for personal development combined with the breakdown of professional expectations have led thousands of young people to emigrate from Spain, creating the so-called youth exodus.“"

Do you know where these Spanish youths are emigrating to ?

Lol the 57% was the figure you quoted above, you referred to June although according to the article it was done in 2019, which is... last year, not three years ago.

Your credibility has taken another nosedive unfortunately.

See the 200bn bloomberg figure was just brought up in Parliment!

Did they reference it accurately or did they get the amount and description out by a factor of 4 ?

A factor or 4? Where did you get that information from?

One of your fellow Remoaners keeps claiming on these threads it’s a calculated figure (according to full fact.org it’s an estimate) and it refers to this year (according to full fact.org it refers to the last four years).

Let me just double check, four, one..... yep out by a factor of four.

So it is only 50 billion? Wow, that is a result, another Brexit bonus "

Is that how it works then lol. Remoaners quote a ridiculous made up figure, we quote what was actually claimed, and you go Nahnanhdenahnah told you.

Wow, that is a result, another Brexit bonus

Is that how it works then lol. Remoaners quote a ridiculous made up figure, we quote what was actually claimed, and you go Nahnanhdenahnah told you.

Ok let’s play.

Fraud in Brussels costs 174 million billion a year and Draghi spent 42 million hiring a private jet.

Now you correct me, go

Ok, let’s pretend that your £50 billion figure is correct . How long will it take the UK to recoup that money and start to out perform its nearest EU rivals (based on population and GDP , France & Germany ) ? "

Not my figure, it’s the Bloomberg figure that was debunked on Monday, do keep up

"Several countries have been wanting to join for years

How many of those countries have actually left?

https://www.statista.com/statistics/755369/opinions-on-having-a-referendum-about-eu-membership-in-the-netherlands/

The majority of Dutch people don't want a referendum.

A poll in June showed 57.2 % of Swedes view EU membership as poistive.

Also in June Spain showed a 60% positive view of membership.

These are literally the countries you cite only more recently...Stop kidding yourself.

57%..... So the EU is becoming dramatically less popular then. The direction of travel is only one way, millions of people across Europe waking up to the greed and corruption of Brussels.

Sorry, we've all agreed polls don't counts sorry, but especially if they are 3 years out of date.

Lol the 57% was the figure you quoted above, you referred to June although according to the article it was done in 2019, which is... last year, not three years ago.

Your credibility has taken another nosedive unfortunately.

Ms Fordwich continued: "There were rumours of Nexit, the Dutch leaving and The Netherlands, and Swexit after the right swing in Sweden.

I will stick to WHO Dashboard Germany deaths showed a resurgence around October but December 9th was the worst day 590 deaths, nowhere before or after ever came close to the figures you cited, sorry WHO Dashboard is very reliable.

A straightforward one - do you?

I find it funny that people like to blame so much on a newspaper, and use it as a veiled attack on those that do. What’s really funny is those that think it clever so say ‘Daily Fail’. Other than fail rhymes with Mail, what’s the relevance?

I like to read a selection of papers. I don’t particularly like the Sun but I know some lovely people that do. If / when in my local cafe I will read it- will that skew / corrupt my political thinking? I doubt it.

“The daily fail”. Dear oh dear.

It’s just a newspaper for fucks sake. One that every now and then I enjoy reading, especially if Chelsea have had a good win as I’m sure the main footie guy is a fan.

It's just an example used to demonstrate the point. I could have said Daily Express.

The point is, every country has their right wing media elements that work hard to convince working class people that their problems are caused by foreigners instead of their own government.

Glad to see someone else pointing out the EU has been crumbling.

Anyone who says it's old material and you must use new material misses the key point that it's not something new and it was going on years and years before this too. Brexit started 4 years ago... The EU have been the main stalkers in the process for obvious reasons too.

What many remoaners and EU members want is for Britain to fail for the simple reason to stop others from exiting. They succeeded with Greece through bl*ck m*il and holding back billions which they should have returned and by holding it back caused economic hardship and prevention of success to leave. They succeeded there, not with the UK and others will undoubtedly follow. Not necessarily in the same manor but their relationship with the EU will change. Maybe the E U will change as a result. This might be a better answer, but they have demonstrated its not something they want to do.

I'd point out the irony in slagging off people for pointing out Brexit is doomed to failure, while consistently suggesting the eu is crumbling, but it would be lost on some people.

And for the unencumbered border free travel and right to work anywhere in Europe. Something I’ve enjoyed all my adult life and something that’s being taken away from my kids.

Yes I know we have to show our passport to get out of the UK and that won’t change. I also remember the painful queue to get from France to Spain.

I read the Daily Mail and see that the EU is a nasty, vindictive, self centred organisation hell bent on removing sovereignty from its members and in particular the UK.

The UK (according to the Daily Mail) has been downtrodden, its demands ignored and its laws and sovereignty rebuked.

Why just send in gunships- we should nuke them all and become the only trading entity around.

To hell with everyone else - the Daily Mail has made me realise that we can be great again, prior to WW2 (which the UK won - according to the Daily Mail) - we ruled the World. Without all those immigrants, we will once again.

I recommend you read this wonderful source and finally see the truth.
