Stupid decision to suspend him in The 1st place

As we still dont know the reason why and the report clearly stated there shouldnt be political interference..which starmer goes out and contradicts completely.

And now it's going to be blown up again.

And Tories could put up pondlife like gove and people will vote them in.

"He also did nothing right lol he’s an old has been had his day time for labour to forget about him and move on

You keep telling us that you’re Labour. What’s Labour about you exactly?

I would say the fact they voted for Brexit makes them true Labour for a start

Why do you associate "true Labour" with suggestible and easily swayed?

Up until 1997 most Labour MP's would have voted for Brexit. And are you saying that the Labour MP's of 2016 who voted for Brexit were easily swayed? Really?

What are you basing that on exactly?your hero jezza has been anti eu all his career and if he had got off the fence and said what he truly believed he may well have won but the silly old sod tried to be someone for everyone which made him look a total twat and thats why he got annihilated in the election.

I meant the until 1997 nonsense..

We have had this debate about labour.

And what difference what he believed?

Do people not have the intelligence to make a decision themselves? The difference is that you want to know what a party is standing for how can you vote for someone who wont tell you?

No..the poster was talking about Corbyn.

Why does anyone need to know what 1 person thinks on 1 issue before making a decision?

It's insane.

The party was split over Brexit..so Corbyn saying he was pro leave or remain wouldnt have made a jot of difference. Thats rubbish how many seats did the tories gain in the north? corbyn was pandering to his lovey brigade in london, he had a choice and took the wrong one. He wanted out of the eu and always has but when it come to it keeping his seat in a remain london labour constituency was more important.

Obviously that's why he advocated a 2nd referendum. yes he did and still would not say what side he would come down on If you cant see this was the reason for labours humiliation in what was billed as a brexit election you are more blinkered than i thought you was."

Why does it matter?

Boris wrote 2 articles for the spectator..one for..knew against..why wasn't he vilified for this?

Tell me a strategy for Brexit where labour would have won?

Look like he had a pair of balls and not someone who caves under pressure Lionel he looked like a weak leader and even you know that bud "

It wouldn't.

If he would have backed leave he would have lost the support of most of the party.

It baffles me why people cant understand that?

"He’s ate some humble pie over it and back to being a divisive presence.

He had his chance and he blew it against Boris of all people. His legacy.

So the party should sack someone because some people have a beef with him?

His legacy was to drag labour away from being a tory lite party.

Once again I find myself having to point out that I didn’t say something Lionel old chap.

Where did I say he should be sacked

You did say he was a divisive presence though?

Surely a democratic political party should be able to accommodate diversity?(the irony)

Did I say he should be sacked let’s clarify that point first?

He is a divisive presence whether they accommodate him or not. Look at what’s happening across the labour Twittersphere this evening.

But by pointing out he is divisive you are identifying him as a problem.

I'd say the people who have a problem with him are divisive.

And starmer has brought that in himself.

I’m not identifying him as a problem per se I’m simply looking objectively on what’s happening in front of me. It seems they eating themselves over him.

Good to see such cohesion.

I agree.The party is split.

But the issue isnt down to Jeremy corybn.

"

It was completely down to JC. The party changed dramatically under his leadership. It was a broad church before and I had many an evening having healthy and fair debates at the CLP and other such places. As soon as Corbyn took over that started to change. His supporters telling us to fuck off to the Tories, that we had no place in the Labour Party and as soon as my Jewish heritage was known, well I can tell you the antisemitism was very definitely real. I had been a Labour member since I was 16 but suddenly I was no longer welcome.

I may be centrist but I believe in the ethos of the Labour Party. We believe in the same destination, just think there are different ways to get there.

So why were the 2 plots to oust him then?

Why has louise elman been proven to lie about him.?

You are talking about 2 different issues.

The party certainly moved to the left under him but that antagonism worked both ways(ie The plots against him)

Anyone guilty of anti semitism should have been booted out the party, but I think its a real murky area.

Corbyn is very anti Israel and this is where the problems lie

But I'm not condoning what happened to you.

Do you honestly believe corbyn is a racist?

.... except the Corbyn allies are arguing that admittance back into the PLP, and the return of the Whip, has by default automatic taken place.

If this is the case, he can still block it.

Much talk about the Tories and their failings, however it has to be said the opposition don't help themselves in appearing better than what we currently have..

Its a forum where anyone of any political bent is allowed to express their opinions unless they are defamatory or illegal!

If you don't think thats fair perhaps you should raise it with the moderators.

I for one would far rather have a broad church in this forum than a bunch of back slapping fellow travellers telling the world that they and only they have the right to be on fab.

The only thing Lionel can be accused of having is the same unwavering loyalty to JC that he continually suggests those from the right of the forum have for BJ (and I don’t mean blow job ).

Nothing wrong with the principal of “stick to your guns”

"And the racism is swept under the carpet again. Brilliant

There is a huge lump though under the carpet clear for all to see it says it all racism is still live and spreading within the party. "

People should start apologising for making up nonsense

Facts are there Corbyn had racist tendencies the only people who can't see that or don't want to are fellow racists.

"If he wants what’s best for labour he would walk away give them a chance for a change his supporters won’t leave labour just because an old man puts his feet up he’s older than water ffs there’s this thing called retirement

He honestly think if Corbyn walks away..everything will be peachy?

No but probably better. Let's face it, things got worse when he walked in

Which "things"? If we take the antisemitism as an example, the report actually states the handling of the issue got better under his leadership.

"

But anti semitism got worse under his leadership because his anti semite followers were emboldened and thought they could get away with more because he is one of them. When you say 'handled', what does that mean exactly?

Whoa Nick..

You can't mention what's in the actual report, your in danger of entering factual substance into the debate and the mail readers will struggle with that..

"

Funny how people who lean to the left always seem to know what's in the Mail. I read it once and promptly put it in the bin

Why are you commenting on something you clearly no nothing about.

When the report began its investigation corbyn played no part in the running of the procedure.

There were issues there certainly, but things were improving

2 people where found guilty. That is hardly 'widespread '

All this knicker twisting over a footnote of failure.

This is almost as funny when he won the leadership battle. The amount of salt over that one on here was probably how the politics forum came about.

People would have had you believe the shellsuited on was going to sweep all before him. The panic that ensued was glorious.
