And the truth is he is gone.

Did anyone wake up and think the World just became a calmer place?

I did.

I also stopped watching American News coverage from between three fingers, hiding that inner embarrassment you feel when you can't believe your ears.

I started to feel BIGLY good in the following days. And I really (at this moment in time) don't care who replaces him. Time will measure that one for us all. But Gawd, I honestly and randomly smile to think he's gone.

Yep, with social media starting to censor or ban people for telling lies it will seriously hamper the likes of Trump in the future

I don't think so.

If you see what's happening in America now, loads of Trump's supports are defecting from Fox news because of their election coverage not being bias enough in favour of trump. They're moving to newmax and breitbart. Both of which make the Dail Mail look balanced and fair in comparison

Maybe the start of civil unrest in the USA never seen before sdonce the civil war.

Maybe the end of the West as we know it.

America is going tp become very unstable

Trump poled more votes than when he won.

He could be the catylist of very evil leaders there.

The States may become destabalised.Biden has got no hope of fixing the States

But they are ‘minority ‘ stations compared with the big networks. Right wing nutters will always find somewhere to go but their options are diminished. The vast majority of republicans are decent people, the small minority are just that , a minority

But who decides what's truth and what are lies.

The moment the likes of twitter and Facebook start censoring anything that doesnt actually encourage people to kill others is a very dangerous day.

The saying "I may strenuous disagree with what you say but will fight for the right for you to say it" has never been more relevant.

Now. While I don't mind in the least which direction this thread goes, fun, laughter, politics, sublime, or ridiculous lol . . .

Please do answer:

Did anyone wake up and think the World just became a calmer place?

I was just reading the outstanding legal challenges. While Democracy is a wonderful thing nothing but nothing will change it.

I recall that Oldham Lancashire (a few years back) had a prospective councillor in prison for postal vote fraud. Non of the ones the republicans are citing comes close.

Pro life were attacking people long before trump came on the scene, you arent addressing the issue, you're just pushing an anti trump position, it's far bigger than him and his rants, do you think what china and russia do is ok? If not who decides what is or isnt ok to delete, one persons free speech is another's lie, one person's truth is another's propaganda misinformation. Just because you decide something is a lie doesnt make it so.

Did you see the pictures on the news years ago showing empty shelves with people queuing for food ? Was that real or was it CIA and mi6 propaganda, we believed it because we were told it was we were told the russians were the bad guys, they were told the same about us, I bet they were shown pictures of the bad westerners queuing for food too, very easy to fake a news story. We ALL believe stuff we want to.

The thread us about trump and whilst it has developed the issue is essentially about what can and can't be said, we can all as neighbours stand outside the lone guys house and shout he has done this or that as it's what we either believe or more to the point want others to hear..

When the guy who is gullible torches the place based upon our lies that's ok then..

Well no it's not..

It's like people using their 'right' to say what they think but accepting none of the responsibilities and then when it's in relation to getting power and keeping that at any cost then the bigger the person the deeper the pockets becomes the default position..

And that as we've seen has had pretty awful consequences even in modern history..

If you are referring to Hitler that's exactly what he did he censored the anti press and he pushed the false propaganda, that's what china and russia do all the time, yet you now want two private companies to do it, ok trump is nuts but that really isnt the point, who will they decide to censor next, it's bad enough that the media decide what we should see and hear the net was the place for free speech and thought now two companies are deciding who can say what, 1984 has truly arrived

When he says something one day and completely denies it the next?

I'm not sure it is the end of populism.

He wasnt too far short of getting a 2nd term and together with a captive media there is a market out there for people being told to believe in simple solutions.

But yes..The world does feel a little safer with that lunatic gone.

It's a fine line to tread saying what can and cannot be posted. As others have said outright lies should be banned as they can lead to violence but censoring people's opinions is not so easy. I can imagine the outrage if Facebook and Twitter banned any posts that were deemed pro labour
