"As far as I know we've never had this situation with a US election. Haven't losers always conceded eventually? I get the feeling Trump just won't concede. I don't think he's mentally capable of accepting the fact he lost. He'll drag his objections through the courts as much as he can. The courts will likely shoot them down. Then what?" He doesn’t have to concede or make a concession speech, if he refuses to leave he will be removed. It will be hilarious to watch, he is a laughing stock

"On 20 Jan 2021, he becomes a private citizen & can be arrested for impersonating the President! He cannot stay & he knows it " That would be hilarious. Problem 1: I'm not sure he does know it. I think he's actually mad enough to believe he won. Problem 2: A lot of his followers follow what he says, contrary to facts. If he claims to still be president, they'd back him.

However, I am concerned that Trump's behaviour (and of those close to him), could incite his more extreme supporters (who also happen to be heavily armed) to some awful act. I really hope not, but the possibility is there. We've already seen examples of it.

Of course it will be squashed, but they have to be careful with the squashing. You don't want to create martyrs. It would be much better for him to go quietly, slightly less damage to American society. If armed militia turn their guns on fellow Americans who knows where it could end?

Gradually the penny will drop that he has to go but I think he will never acknowledge it and will from now on be the victim in the eyes of the most rabid trumpists .. Most other republicans will move back to a less toxic opposition.. The longer this goes on the more those within his administration will leave for their own careers and life after trump..

The republicans will replace him and move on, the rest of his family don’t have his fame and tbh they won’t have his money to make a serious attempt at running for 2024. He will also lose his Twitter followers if he keeps getting censored or banned , his bull shit is being muted, his political career is over

My understanding is the democrats flipped a seat." 2 of the remaining seats (N Carolina & Alaska) to be declared will likely be republican. the 2 senate seats for Georgia will go to a run off elections in January. If the democrats take both seats in Georgia, then the VP will cast the tie breaking vote. If the democrats lose, they will be trying to peel off a couple of republican senators like Collins, Romney or Sasse. A republican majority can also hinder Biden's selection of cabinet positions.

He is an absolute moon unit.

He won't concede because, (a) he's a dick and (b) it will act as a signal to his base that the election was rigged.

"There’s more to him not conceding I suspect..no sitting president can be charged with a criminal offence, once out of office he and probably his entire family will be subject to numerous criminal investigations in regard to dodgy dealings whilst he was in the White House, his wife was granted numerous Chinese patents during this time when all other businesses were barred from dealing with the Chinese..I really think he and other family members will end up convicted of numerous crimes and will do prison time..." Michael Cohen has already testified about some of the things that could put Trump away. I think that Biden is trying to unite the country and going after Trump would cause more division. So I think Biden will let Trump go for the Greater Good.

Biden doesn't seem to want to tear the country apart further over a long and messy court case with Trump at the centre.

But it will be difficult to do keeping a 6ft distance (Its less than 2m in the US i think) " It would be great fun to see. Can't see it happening, though. I think he'll just fuck off very sulkily, ranting all the way that the election was rigged.

Presidential pardons will not protect trump from state charges only federal. And as ypu say above there is the outstanding matter of the payments to stormy daniels.

"Story that obama is going to be ambassador to Britain Please let it be true " Indeed. Especially when those big banks need a bail out! Or if the war on terror need to continue by bombing South Armagh, West Belfast and the bogside Derry with a few tactical drone strikes. But mostly for pandering to big finance and big corporations...happy days
