Military coups are usually staged by high ranking officers in the armed forces and require that the troops will back them.

Unless Trump has that backing which is highly unlikely, its not going to happen.

I’m sure William Barr will have a say before the Military and hopefully it’ll get kicked out by the lower courts before it gets to the Supreme Court.

Saw an interview with a former British Ambassador to the US who said he is expecting Trump to issue a whole bunch of blanket Presidential pardons to all the cronies in his junta to stop the impending legal charges that are being threatened. Biden wouldn't be able to reverse them!

It depends what happens in the next few months

Some of the crackpots are virtually advocating armed insurrection.

Maybe the feds will intervene.

There is no way in the way he will act in the way Obama did.

Another issue during this election cycle, is that Americans are still dying of COVID.

Trump will not be spending much time dealing with the Pandemic, just allowing it to continue killing people and then blame the new administration 6 months in for doing a much worse job than he did.

A lot more power than the banks, institutional investors and their global interests? Who do you think that might be?

I don't think he has the army with him. He did his relationship with them a lot of damage. I have no doubt he would stage a military coup if he could but that would take support he simply doesn't have.

He is trying to stage a legal coup, which is likely to fail. He is trying to string things out until the Electoral College sits in December so he can argue there is no consensus when the vote is taken. He will try to stage a constitutional coup in that way. The more states Biden wins, the less likely Trump is to be able to achieve that.

It looks like he's done and you are seeing a mortally-wounded president flailing until the end overtakes him.

He lost control of the military upon defeat. A built in safeguard. He might still set fire to the Whitehouse but imagine his taste in decor;!time to redecorate anyway!

By his actions in not accepting the outcome of a legitimate election and trawling America’s reputation through the mud so that the whole world can see I truly believe he is a deep cover Russian mole.

I’m guessing his masters in the Kremlin are slapping themselves on the backs for a job extremely well done with over decades of planning behind it!!
