I read a report where he tried to link food vouchers to crack dens and brothels. I dunno where he's going but the ones I use usually prefer cash!

"I read a report where he tried to link food vouchers to crack dens and brothels. I dunno where he's going but the ones I use usually prefer cash!"

Indeed. His reasoning is that a very small minority (by his own omission) misuse the food vouchers and so hence nobody should get them.

1) If your parents are spending their money on crack dens and brothels instead of your lunch, then you are probably the most in need of a free school meal.

2) So if a small minority of MPs misuse their expenses, then none should have them?

Ben Bradley said:

“At one school in Mansfield 75% of kids have a social worker, 25% of parents are illiterate. Their estate is the centre of the area’s crime. One kid lives in a crack den, another in a brothel. These are the kids that most need our help, extending FSM doesn’t reach these kids.”

Somebody esle joked: “£20 cash direct to a crack den and brothel really sounds like way forward with this one”

Bradley's response was: “That’s what FSM vouchers in the summer effectively did …”

This has gone down spectacularly badly with many people.

Oh and another Tory has responded in an astonishingly dumb way after businesses rallied around to provide food after the Tories voted down the free school meals.

She - Saxby - said: "I am delighted our local businesses have bounced back so much after lockdown that they are able to give food away for free, and very much hope they will not be seeking any further government support."

Oh and yet another tory - Morgan - defended voting down the free school meals because the Tories had been called scum.

So the Tories voted not to give food to needy kids because their poor feelings were hurt?

If there is one thing we learn from these forums it's that Tory voters do not give a fuck about feeding starving kids, cheering the denial of pay rises to the NHS, giving hundreds of millions of pounds to mates of the PM, blaming poor people for being poor etc.

The ship sailed a long time ago. Pleading for civility and moderation in language now is hypocrisy. Dog whistles and pantomime stage winks are ok but speaking in a straightforward way isn't?

The likes of Johnson and Farage rode to success using vile loaded language, when challenged was speaking sarcastically or ironically.

It's funny, I remember campaigning for remaining in the EU in 2016.

I went onto a Council estate to canvas. Everyone was voting leave as they were convinced it'd usher in a government that would take better care of working class and poor people who were British.

Same Council estate in 2019. Sentiments were often the following to paraphrase, "I'm voting Tory to get brexit sorted, then the government is accountable to us here and we'll get some change and support."

Agreed with what they wanted, just didn't agree with the plan to get it. The stories were echoed by friends canvassing in the North and Midlands.

I want to know what the people who voted Tory for the first time, think of their purchase.

Both Priti Patel and Boris Johnson have been using inflammatory language towards immigration lawyers recently, and in at least one case it has almost lead to drastic consequences, yet Patel has carried on with the rhetoric.

The Tories really can't complain about provocative language when both the PM and home secretary are happily indulging in just that themselves.
