"We do indeed but until we limit funding to political parties to a set amount each and tell the media they will be shut down for bias reporting then I think we’ve got not a hope in hell! Our once great country is fast becoming a very very sick problem that will soon be too far gone to be saved. I blame all political parties and most media. Self interest is now the norm for an MP." Not all of them.

Dennis skinner was vilified by his own party and opposition MPs but he didn’t rip off the people who voted for him. I didn’t agree with his politics but his stand was admirable. Who thought Michael Foot would be a good PM representing the U.K. he couldn’t even dress himself! Neil Kinnock a nearly man who may have done well if he wasn’t fighting his own left wing all the time. Blair lied and bullshitted his way in with a Murdoch. Then spent money we didn’t have. Gordon Brown just wanted the crumbs off Blairs table. Cameron needs putting up against a wall and shot! Corbyn tried I’ll give him that but I also saw weakness in him. Nick Clegg nice guy very eloquent but again too weak to argue . These are the ones that get to the top which just shows how poor the pool must be! One exception and maybe it’s rose tinted glasses on my part but I was always drawn to John Smith. He told it like it was. Unions told to look after workers and stop fighting political arguments and business invest and get better at running business. So yes I think we can do ten times better. We won’t but we could.

" Substitute Michael foot for boris. There are decent politicians out there. You gave the perfect example in there in Dennis skinner. Tony benn was another. I think Corbyn was a rare politician of integrity and principles. I quite like Andy burnham. Maybe when you get to the top you have to sacrifice these principles? When you are a backbencher I'm guessing it's easier to hold onto your integrity.

When you are a backbencher I'm guessing it's easier to hold onto your integrity." I must agree with Andy Burnham you’re right. I was guilty of putting him in the same box a few years ago but his performance as a Mayor has been a very nice surprise so good on him. There will be good people I’m sure so to class them all is unfair, Having had meetings with a few ministers over the years I keep being disappointed by how thick they are. They need their support team and some can’t even manage when they have that, I was at a meeting in the treasury office with a Minister. Myself and two other industry guys wiped the floor with him. And I’m not naive to think I’m anything special. He was incompetent and his advisors were squirming at how bad his grasp was. He was sacked a year later. I met a home office minister last year. He boldly told a small room full of business men how well the planning on Brexit was going with the hauliers. Having a little knowledge I asked him who the home office had spoken too, He said all the majors like Eddie Stobbart etc. I then asked given that 95% of traffic through a Dover was foreign registered mega hauliers how many of them had he and his team spoken with? Tumble would have been deafening rolling through that room. The answer was not one! Not a party political dig just another incompetent senior minister. They are really not up to it.

"Take away all their other business interests, their consultancies, their paid journalistic work. Make them concentrate on the job that they are employed to do. And stop them using family members as advisors and office managers, just to get another salary into the household. " Yes starting small by employing family and friends leads them to feeling confident an then passing major multi-million pound contracts such as PPE to friends of friends. The system stinks. Someone tell me why they need second homes. When our staff travel to London we don’t need to accommodate their family’s they are working. Build some apartments and let them stay in them when working in London or voting. They should be living in their constituency. This would save hundreds of millions.

"I'm afraid that the system of selecting government in this country has now degenerated to the point where it cannot be mended. Probably the only way that things can get better now are the total collapse of economy and people burning down the current lot. Over the last couple of years the UKs position as a global economic force has dropped from i think 4th position to 6th position, come January it will drop to 10th place or lower. When we hit rock bottom, and England is looking enviously at its successful neighbours Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who have rejoined the EU and doing quite nicely, then maybe we can kill off the nationalistic cancer that has destroyed the prospects of the English people and start to rebuild. " Is that the same nationalistic cancer the SNP has and wants to split up the UK?

Surely someting like a decent size hotel room would be enough. A room that's comfortable but dont want to stick around to long in.

"You get the leader you deserve How so? Because you vote them in?" Thats not the same tbough. We only get a very small selection to choose from at a GE, and its only really a battle between two. A choice between poor and poorer isn't the same as "what we deserve".

" Different people measure cimpetenxe in different ways . The government minister concerned may not have needed to speak to the foreign hauliers if his staff had already done so. In any event data is not always available in order to provide instant answers . Margins in haulage are wafer thin and the industry is highly adaptable. Many people will accept the view of the managing director of a major international haulage company who stated that his company and many others were prepared for any relevant changes to be implemented on Jan 1 st . Brexit may be a benefit to the International haulage industry in the UK if it makes it more difficult for EU hauliers to compete against us.

"We are always being fobbed off with 2nd rate people in the UK being leader. Putting political differences aside. Do we deserve better leadership than the political offerings we currently have at the moment? " Anyone can be better than today's idiots. Just take a look at the blonde monkey. Needless to say, nothing else. Idiot chose idiot, simple

" There were more than 2 people on the ballot box though At the general election you normally how a choice of between anything upto about 12. Would a much wider field equate to better democracy? The media plays a bit part here.
