Very interested to hear what everybody’s thoughts are on the Q-ANON movement and its core belief structures I have my own views and I will express that later on in the thread if there is a decent debate but I’m more interested in your thoughts on the matter

I was listening to LBC last week and a caller listed a load of their conspiracy theories. Every one was lifted directly from the plot of a specific 80s or 90s B-movie.

The clip is on LBC's site and twitter feed.

Qanon is just a result of people not being able to think about the source of the information.

IE. Any maniac with a smartphone and a YouTube account is seen to be as credible as peer reviewed science.

It's all rubbish and conspiracy theories. Almost everything they stand for had been debunked over and over again. At best, they promote ignorance, at worst, they will lead to serious harm after someone takes their "facts" seriously.

I suppose one way to think of it really is to keep control by reinforcing the idea that knowledge is bad.The bibles a bit outdated now,so time to make up new myths and legends.

I do think there is something sinister behind it all. I think it is part of the strategy to weaken faith in democratic institutions and the media. It is a 21st century version of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. If I can get you to believe in one conspiracy theory, it will be easier to convince you about another. There's a big overlap between the anti maskers and Q crew, similarly with the anti vaccine lot.

some interesting comments there! I am surprised and find it fascinating, how it has managed to catch on! It would appear this theory is spreading and gaining traction quicker than any other ‘conspiracy theory’ i think i can remember!

I also think it leans quite heavily on the illuminati type conspiracies that suggest we are all being controlled and manipulated by a few at the top, another conspiracy that just doesn’t make sense! I have to admit, i too find it quite bonkers to be honest! but each to there own i guess!

read something online about it today that was quiet intresting.may be a load of old tosh or may be some truth to it but the person was saying that it is the same sort of thing the cia/milatary used to use years ago.will try anf find it online again and post the title if i can find it.basically its like a disinformation tactic.like i said the bloke may well have been talking out the top of his head but it did sort of make sense what he was saying.he did say it wasnt milatry doing it but more likley a group along the lines of 4chan.like i said further up the thread i think there loons who are good for a bit of entertainment.the bloke likend it to like an online game

Is it Australia that are trying to produce better online information sharing laws via social media?

Yet i read comments promoting the theory from threads on FAB just TODAY and i quote

So i think it is a bit disingenuous to dismiss it as madness for morons, as everyone has done so so far!

I am reading these types of comments A LOT nowadays, and just dont get it, as we only need to look to the links between trump and Epstein, and his refusal to criticise that situation in ANY WAY, whilst disparaging characters like McCain by calling them cowards or gulliani latest embarrassing gaff to see where the stench is actually coming from,

however there is a now a clear emerging pattern of people in power who have abused their positions and wealth getting exposed but to suggest trump is the saviour is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!

As far as i can see he is the clearest and most blatant example of their conspiracy! A man who literally thinks he is above the law, he actually believes is too powerful and immune and therefore can do and say whatever he likes, without any consequence! past present or future

how the QANON theorists do not see the OBVIOUS IRONY in this is quite frankly beyond me!!! believe this and you will believe literally ANYTHING!!!!!!!
