Is Labour United?

News comes that the Unite union, one of the biggest donors to the Labour party, is to cut its funding by 10%.

Len McCluskey is accusing SKS of "not listening", and that he has swung to the centre ground, after fighting his leadership campaign on a more leftist platform.

Are these the first signs of the expected tensions, possibly leading to the Labour party splitting in two?

I would suggest it is good for our democracy. Two large parties, taking turns can never really represent the people of the UK.

By default they have to fight over the same people so become (at least on paper) somewhat similar (though once in power they seem to diverge from this).

We actually need smaller more representative parties, that then share power in a coalition. We would need to implement a better form of voting in a general election though. Otherwise it will never happen.
