This gvt has no backbone. They can’t take responsibility for anything. Somebody had to go but obviously Williamson, the night ball Minister, is staying put.

I reckon Williamson is only staying put for a while. It'll be convenient to the higher ups if Williamson also takes the hit over any cock ups from the schools reopening. After that mess, he can be sacked, resign or wander off.

No one will get a job like that if they say no...we now live in a dictatorship.

The most senior civil servant at education is stepping down now too. Anything to avoid a politican being sacked, it seems.

Actually there's a pattern here. Cummings/Johnson seem to be using their fuck ups to force out senior civil servants. How many have been offed at this point?

Think its now 5, Williamson should have done the honourable thing and resigned or been pushed in the beginning as far as I am concerned.

Yep

Forget about "Yes Minister" it's now yes Dominick... welcome to our new dictatorship.

I wonder how many who swallowed the oven ready thing are now regretting it.

They will never admit to it though...

So the exam fiasco is due to a ‘mutant algorithm’ according to Johnson. Seriously, is this tosser our pm? When you think that these idiots have reached rock bottom, they come up with more stupid statements. Is that the only explanation these clowns can give these students and their teachers?

This guy must be a mutant himself...

Given that Ofqual apparently said best option was for kids who had missed4 months of school was to take the exams anyway because their algorithm was known to be shit then yes. She should have gone.

How unfair would taking exams have been? Better of kids/private schools etc...laotops and online learning...poorer kids etc. Nothing.....how bad would that have been?

They had three options on the table

1 exams go ahead

2 postpone to a later date

3 give every pupil a standard certificate for this year.

The gvmt cancelled all the above without consulting them.

So after all the consternation this has caused they are more or less at the option 3 as this years results will be downgraded by many.

The incompetent Williamson should have stepped down in my view.

But that will not happen with this gvmt as there will always be some lesser person to throw under a bus.
