"Why is the world's richest most powerful country and the bastion of democracy, civilisation and the 21st century so broken?" It's only two of those things. Maybe that's why? Also, it has a government, not unlike our own, which is more than happy to divide its citizenry by means of massive inequality, using an electoral system which makes it easy for them to do so; even if they do not secure the consent of 50%+ of the electorate.

There system is very different and the UK and British governments are in no way alike. You need to check a hell pf a lot of facts

"Why is the world's richest most powerful country and the bastion of democracy, civilisation and the 21st century so broken?" Once you start to use fear and anger to win an election you're lost. It's the easiest path to victory though. Then once in power, however marginally, you do not even make the pretence of trying to do what's best for everyone. Then you're lost.

With our system I don't think there has ever been a government of any party that got 50 percent of the electorate

"Wonder if the poor dont like seeing the rich get richer, but theres no class system as in this country,i thought it was the land of opportunity if you dont make it tho, theres not much hope for you,and really everyone is not going to get there, some pick up a gun, others give up,work harder the thing is its never going to be utopia for all,but theres still people wanting to give it a go,its how the world is i think, and as a last idea the more poor people going there means more unhappy people wanting change, and so more riots and unrest" This may have been true in the past, bit not now. There absolutely is a class system in the US. There is old money and there is privilege. You can make good here just as in the US with as much ease or difficulty from a humble background. There is just a myth in the USA that anyone can make it. People are seeing this to not be true.

That video of George Floyd was really hsrd to watchand turn over when shown again. The general state of Inequality is appauling. Multi billionaires at the top while some struggle with the basics, food, housing, health care " That's not just in America it's the same the world over.
