Why people are ignoring the issue is a good question. My opinion, firstly the fossil fuels industry has huge influence on governments. They promote misinformation about the subject, enough to put doubt into the minds of people who don't understand the science. And secondly, is that people don't want their way of life challenged, don't want to change their habita, but don't want to be seen as being contributing to the problem. So they deny that a problem exists. Dr Katherine Hayhoe from Texas tech university has a lot to say on this issue. | |||

The company i work for heavily relies on the use of hydrocarbons for use in its products. Our main business units are located in the main oil producing countries and our business model fluctuates with the oil price. As for your comment about changing to suit, I'm guilty of this myself. There are loads of things I could do to to further reduce my carbon footprint even further, however this would mean a significant change to my career and lifestyle which I'm not willing to forfeit at the moment. | |||
