"Given that so many government departments have, in the last 6 months, been heavy geared towards Brexit- has this been a contributing factor to the slow and mixed response to Covid-19. My own opinion is that the government has been completely blindsided by the virus. It has completely underestimated this virus, in its contagious nature and it’s knock on effects. Korea and a few other countries (who learned their lessons from SARS) took immediate action, testing, tracking contacts and quarantining. This has kept their infections (and therefore deaths) much lower than e.g. Italy, Spain, UK... | |||
