From other similar threads, I believe there's an issue with the default Samsung browser and locations. Have you tried another browser, e.g. Chrome?

To turn it on you swipe down on the screen, this brings up the symbols, location symbol is right next to wifi-grey means off blue is on...i use a Sammy 7 edge with default settings and works fine for me.

It could be a security setting.

Go to settings, then apps. Scroll down and select Samsung Internet, select Permissions... check location is switched on.

That should fix it.

Standart 'vanilla' Samsung browser doesn't use the permissions for GPS. That is why users cannot use the 'near me' majority of browsers will support GPS request eg. Chrome,Firefox,Brave.

It does on my S8... and the S7, S6, S5 and S4's I had before it.
