Quoting without other quotes

I'd like to quote the last post without their quote from the previous post.

Posts are growing larger the more we quote. On mobile it's harder to clean up

Would be a good idea as many posts become 2 or 3 screen lenghts in just quoted quotes.

I often edit the quote if I'm quoting but it's a bit of a faf on mobile but still dooable

Exactly. Annoying to scroll and annoying to edit. Most people do the status quo.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Anything I post is my responsibility. If I quote a massive post and can't be bothered to edit it down to just what is relevant, I can't complain if my point is consequently not clear.
