After a fantastic social, we are very proud to say we raised £500 for st Leonard's hospice York. Huge thank you to everybody that came.

we also said a sad farewell to S--s69 who are leaving as hosts, thank you for all your hard work over the last few yesrs you will be missed xxx. Which then leads us to our very sexy new hosts the jj's who did an amazing job running the raffle tonight, your going to be brilliant hosts xxx

As a single guy I think the £5 I paid was great value and do not feel aggrieved that couples also paid £5 I met some fantastic couples and singles and it was £5 well spent and to be fair if you were a single guy going to some other socials you pay for it would be a lot more than £5

I said the total raised for charity could be nearly doubled if the contribution was per person. However, you are quite right there are two people in a couple.

That is exactly what I suspected. I can understand why clubs do that, here we're talking about a social raising money for charity and contributing per person would not only be fairer all round, It would nearly double the amount the charity received.

Luckily we live in a country where we can choose what we do if it bothers you so much you could always miss socials that charge any fee that way you don't have to lose anymore sleep about it! Clearly you have your own opinion that you are entitled to you are in the minority by the looks of it and to be honest you have made your point I think we should all just be delighted at the money that was made and the generosity of everyone

I think Bobby had a valid point to make. Saying 'if you don't like it then you don't have to come' isn't very helpful, especially as Bobby has supported the York socials for quite a while.

I have also noticed that couples pay the same as singles. Are the socials so inundated with single women you'd rather I went elsewhere too?

The organisers have said they'll consider it, which is all we wanted to hear.

As I said we are free to make are own choices to attend or not it was a charity event and was very successful
