Hi,

I’m Mark and I live on Malu Kai (52’ Irwin). Connor a friend of mine, is flying out to help me sail her back to the Cardiff, UK from Kos, Greece.

We have split the trip up into 3 legs

Leg 1; Leave Kos on the 3rd ish, and sail to Astipalania a small island to the west of Kos where we can anchor for the night. We will leave early in the morning for a two and a half day sail to Pilos, a large natural harbour on the east coast of the Peloponnisos ( and the site of a famous battle….no, no I won’t bore you with the little bits of history I know about.) we will stop here for a day if we have time. (on the way to Pilos we will pass by some places and although I don’t plan on stopping we might take a quick look, there’s a large Venetian fort at Methoni, and Thira The volcano that destroyed the Minoan Empire). From Pilos its around 3 days to Malta and we should be there by the 11th. (Never been, looks great, you can just imagine the Knights at the Crusade, am I beginning to sound like a bit of a knob) any way we should have a few days to explore.

Leg 2: Leave Malta on the 14th,we will head for Panteleria, a small Italina island of the coast of Africa, that most people have never heard of.

It’ a 24 hour sail from Malta, From here we will sail direct to Gib which will take around 8 days. We will have a few days to explore see the rock apes etc and get our breath back.

Leg 3: we will leave Gib on the 27th pop over the straits to Tanger in Morocco for a day (as long as we have no probs booking in or out we’ll see what they say in Gib) Now we are in the Atlantic we may make a quick stop in the Algarve Portugal, But at the moment we plan on heading out to sea, way out into the Atlantic for the whole trip back to the UK, we back by the 15th.

The point is that we all enjoy it. It’s a long trip and that’s why I would like 4 or more crew on so it makes watches so much easier, you can come for one leg or all of them if you have the time.

These are the types of trips where you make life long friends, and I am hoping to make a few. Is that a little bit mushy I don’t know. I hope I have the pleasure of seeing you.

There is one other bit I’ve left it to last, well you know, anyway there will be a charge £25 for food fees fuel etc. (sorry Wish I could afford not to ask)

We will talk about other stuff what kit to bring, Life, politics, whether Reef or not Reef. If you decide to come and help me on our mini Adventure.

Yours mark
