We used to be active members of Born to Ride swinging bikers club (now dis-banded) the guy that ran it crashed his bike on our way back from a wales caping trip we all went to and later died so we closed the club out of respect

I don't know how many threads like this I've seen on so many different sites over the years, but I'd just like to know if ANYONE has EVER got their shit together for a meet and a ride-out? At all?

I'm not talking about a motorbike fuck-fest (though that would be interesting), I'm talking about all the people who continually add to these threads, obviously keen to have a blast with other libertines. Do any of them (you) ever have any success getting anything arranged?

It seems to me that everyone talks the talk, but not many actually feel inspired enough to actually organise something. (And yes, I know that I'm just as bad, I've not made much of an effort to arrange anything!)

Surely it can't be that difficult for a minimum of 6 bikes to turn up at the same time, the riders have a chat, a cuppa, and then all head off somewhere interesting?

Cue loads of people saying "Yep, I'm up for that..." and in 12 months time replying to another thread from someon elooking for other bikers...

we have and still do see a guy with a 900 trophy often and used to meet up with a couple from Stoke now and agine we might be out on our pan this afternoon

Well, I'm impressed, you managed to get 15 people together from a thread on Fab, did you advertise a run, or was it all done through PMs? What was the make-up of the group being that there's everything from scooterists to backpatch bikers, and everything in between, chipping into these threads? What was the M to F ratio?

How many knew each other beforehand? How many said they were going to come, but failed to turn up? How many did you lose along the way, LOL?

Lots of questions, but I genuinely want to know. It seems that despite lots of people apparently wanting to meet others through a shared passion for bikes, it's a bit like herding cats to get anything arranged.

Like I said before, it's not unique to this site - of every one that has had similar threads, I've never seen anyone actually get a ride into place, despite the best intentions. I do recall someone trying to arrange a bikers camping weekend here, can't remember if it actually took place - couples only in any case.

Of course, meeting others who turn out to have bikes isn't very difficult, nor is getting 15 of your mates to go for a blast, but getting a group together from an interest thread on a swinging website is quite an achievement. You deserve credit and it would be great if you shared the secret of your success.

MY attitude? Hey, I wasn't the one who just weighed in with assumptions about someone else. I tend to ride alone, it's because I don't want to hare after a load of Power Ranger squids down a road that has "Shiny Side Up" posters all along it due to it being plagued with weekend warriors. I've found plenty of fantastic roads, seen wonderful things, and met some amazing people here and abroad when I've been riding, all through chance. That's "fun" to me...oh, and I've even done the odd bit of shagging along the way!

just look for the orange VW trike with tango down the sides (written in cocks)! we will be camped at the back of the tennis courts.
