a southwest social was suggested on here a few weeks ago but it seems to have died a death

sorry for asking but if its in a swing play club it wouldnt really be a social would it. shame cos a few of us from wales would have travelled for a social like we have down here but we can go swing clubs any time but good luck

it would be just a social, that's the whole reason I want to do it, it will b on a night they are usually closed, and won't be a normal club night. it's easier to arrange a social (and cheaper) at a club, rather than hotel, pub etc

that wud be a week night then hope ya can pull it off. we hire a private function room in pub or club charge 1.50 per person and it pays for itself but good luck anyway hunxxxx

Is it easier? Not really, you have to convince the owners to open on a night they usually don't, they will obviously charge for that and staff etc, if like it's been suggested it is held in a pub function room it most likely will be free, people are much more sociable and relaxed in a pub rather than a swinging club, the idea of a social is just a friendly get together to mingle and chat, maybe to find future meetings for playing. In a club the temptation would be there to use the rooms and it would turn into just another club night. If it were a pub I would go. Clubs just aren't my thing.
