The recent socials we’ve been to all start weeks ahead of the social. Telegram groups, people chatting, deciding who and who not to chat to on the night, from the masses attending.

When you get there, several games try to direct you around to how you chat and function.

We miss the old style socials and are wondering if others do too.

Someone organises a venue. Controls a good mix of attendees, not a huge number.

You get told the venue just before and you turn up to a pub not knowing who you will meet.

You drink, chat, laugh, mingle, all with no pressure to join in a game or embarrass yourself.

You chat to people who you’d not likely chat to based on their profile or their online persona and often make friends you never would.

If enough people remember those old socials or like the sound of this type of social, we will consider creating one on the Warwickshire Leicestershire border.

So, please give us your thoughts and comments, and let’s see where this goes, if anywhere.

We’ve recently resurrected the Warwickshire social under a shiny new name & are launching it in a fabulous venue in central Leamington Sat 1st Feb. We surveyed people beforehand as to what they wanted from a social event & tickets are flying out. Take a look at our profile & drop us a message if you want more info or are interested in coming along. We’d love to see you there. xx
